Then the forward kicks a point, not such a rare sight.

Goal to Ming.
Only 3 points in it with a minute and a half left in the 1st Q.

Re: Match Thread: Saints vs Hawks
That was our best passage of play so far.
But we can't get a centre clearance, we must be the worst centre clearance team in the competition.

s*** quarter
Wrong match ups
Slow ball movement
Beaten at stoppage
Keep playing like that we will lose to a terrible team

I think we can do a lot better in the remaining three quarters. But we're definitely struggling.

Re: Match Thread: Saints vs Hawks
One thing I've noticed today is that it appears that you are now allowed to push your opponent in the back when they are attempting to mark the ball. The Hawks benefited from this "new rule" several times and we also did once or twice.

Re: Match Thread: Saints vs Hawks
Good finish to the quarter. Kicking improved. We won clearance in the last 10 minutes
Henry a bit rusty
I don't mind it if Hastie and Garcia make mistakes ... they're teenagers but Ross and Marshall ...33% disposal efficiency
It's up to our senior players to get us over the line

Re: Match Thread: Saints vs Hawks
I’ve been focusing on our inside 50s and King, and of our 11 entries only 3 were decent, which is an ongoing issue for us.
Compare to Hawthorn who have had less entries but more quality, hitting up multiple leads and free players.
King has been working hard but literally only had one half decent chance which he took, so that’s a positive for him.
We need to do better going inside 50 to get value out of him.

Re: Match Thread: Saints vs Hawks
A new experience for me…
My Kayo is 25s behind live play.
Every time a forward takes a mark, I can look at the app to see if they kick it.
Strange way to watch but does a lot to reduce anxiety. I feel like a clairvoyant

Re: Match Thread: Saints vs Hawks
Need to stop handballing under pressure to team mates under pressure
It’s how to turn it over
Don’t transfer the pressure to someone else - either kick the ball or accept the tackle for a stoppage
Especially not handballs backwards
Seb has coughed up two

Just pay attention rest if game it’s our no 2 issue outside of no midfield drive at all
Only 1 entry 1st qtr liked remotely composed
Rest were bombs, lucky bounce, handball to guy standing still rubbish
I would HATE to be a forward in this side

Re: Match Thread: Saints vs Hawks
General observations…
King - one instance where the ball went to him and he leapt at it = mark and goal
Howard - looks a heck of a lot better when he is doing defender things rather than looking to perform circus tricks

Another push in the back on the player trying to mark the ball.

No system, no run and buckling under pressure and not putting pressure back on them.

Broken tackle after broken tackle, weak, weak, weak.
