VFL vs North
Qtr time now, playing well against a clearly undermanned North midfield.
Clark 6 touches and a goal
Dow 6 touches and a goal
Sharman, Collard, Caminiti a goal each

Match Thread: Saints vs Kangas
Good first quarter for the Zebras 45-20. And all three Kangas goals were from dubious umpiring decisions: the first coming after a dubious free kick in the ruck contest, the second after an "over the shoulder" tackle that wasn't, and the third after Greenwood of the Kangas manhandled O'Connell in front of goal.
Of course, we should be going well, given that our team includes: Caminiti, Sharman, Collard, Jones, Dow, Clark and Paton. And Campbell, Schoenmaker, Keeler, Heath and O'Connell (who has impressed me).
We ought to reach 150 plus points by full-time.

Clark got hit in the head again, but seems ok.

Re: Match Thread: Saints vs Kangas
True that. But we've got close to the best backline in the AFL. Can't have everything I guess.

Re: Match Thread: Saints vs Kangas
Hopes for 150 points by full time have been dashed by a terrible second quarter.
Jones our best player so far.

Re: Match Thread: Saints vs Kangas
Been off for half a quarter and going to the rooms just before halftime, not ideal
Thought he was playing pretty well before coming off

Re: VFL vs North
Collard a lot more involved today looking good.
Heath missed an absolute shocker directly in front.
Campbell dominating again.
Jones every where but doesnt hurt the opposition with his possession.
OConnell starting to find his niche.
Blamires and Zagari good.
Hunter Clark has hurt a knee again, the guy simply doesnt have an AFL readied physique. His lack of muscle/strength exposes him to constant injury.

It's not the Saints, it's Sandringham and it's a joke.

Re: Match Thread: Saints vs Kangas
Can someone please explain to me how a 6 goal quater can go for more than 34 minutes?
Umpiring, timekeeping all really substandard at VFL level.

Re: Match Thread: Saints vs Kangas
Good quarter from Collard. Think he will be close to getting a game at this rate.
O'Connell did a few nice things, Jones started the quarter strong and looking a cut above

Re: Match Thread: Saints vs Kangas
I'd be buggered if I can see how that would help. The Kangaroos reserves side looks like a joke to me. The fact that we aren't 50 points ahead at half-time is also a joke, but it's not the only joke.samuraisaint wrote: ↑Sun 05 May 2024 4:23pm It's not the Saints, it's Sandringham and it's a joke.

Re: Match Thread: Saints vs Kangas
Well Allison isn't going to be playing AFL any time soon. Clark is just one of those unlucky players who gets injury after injury. I'm not sure that, even fully fit, he'd be an automatic selection for our AFL team right now. Windhager has come on, and Dow and Jones (not to be confused with the stock market index) are pressing for selection.saynta wrote: ↑Sun 05 May 2024 4:26pmNo Keeler and now no Clark or Allisonmeher baba wrote: ↑Sun 05 May 2024 3:47pm Good first quarter for the Zebras 45-20. BTW, is Sharman injured too? He seemed to disappear off the radar in that second quarter.

Re: Match Thread: Saints vs Kangas
Their case is self-sabotage. They played consecutive prelims in 2014 and 2015 and finals again in 2016 before sacking their best players to fast track a rebuild.Otiman wrote: ↑Sun 05 May 2024 4:28pmLike North Melbourne?samuraisaint wrote: ↑Sun 05 May 2024 4:23pm It's not the Saints, it's Sandringham and it's a joke.
