Re: Zak Jones
Who said he played mid at Sydney?
HS is crap, but better than making up salaries
Zac is an AFL standard player, but is not a quality AFL midfielder.
You can overrate him all you wish, it appears the coach doesn't necessarily rate him as highly as you.
There's only one rule in the jungle! When the LYON's hungry, he eats!

Re: Zak Jones
If his body holds up, I’d think of keeping him on for one more season for depth only.
It really depends on how many vacancies are on the list.

Re: Zak Jones
For the LAST time
Eddy did NOT play in the 2009 GF
And counting 2010 as two seperate GFs is also folly
Both games were played for 1 cup

Re: Zak Jones
I rate him as a B-C grade player
Not a quality mid
Perhaps a 5th mid
Ross doesn’t like him - that’s apparent
That doesn’t mean much - he looks for scapegoats
Luke Ball was one

Re: Zak Jones
1x 2010 AFL Grand Final
1x 2010 Grand Grand Final Replay
They count as two separate and distinct games, albeit playing for the same premiership, but one was clearly a GF replay and counts as such.

Re: Zak Jones
McQualter did though
And
do they count as 2 games played for the individual players’ games tally?
AFAIK every player who played in both of 2010 GF is credited with both.

Re: Zak Jones
Tell Leon Davis that, or Ben McEvoy. Or the Collingwood bloke who kicked the first goal in the replay.

Re: Zak Jones
You said Eddy played in 3 GFs - he did not
McQualter had an excellent 2009 and was an important player
It’s more accurate to say
He played in one GF and a GF replay

Re: Zak Jones
Congratulations
I made an error in saying he played in 3 grand finals
He only played in 2 in 2010 (including the replay)
Unlike you, I’m prepared to admit to a mistake
But it doesn’t matter
You made the point that Jones played in a GF as if that bolstered your argument as to him being a better player than others have pegged him as.
I merely pointed out another player who nobody can claim as a superstar also played in a GF
But it’s ok
I realise you take offence when anybody questions your superior knowledge on football matters on here.
Feel free to have the last word on this - I’m done on this now

Re: Zak Jones
No
I don’t take offence
I just pointed out your mistake
Where did I ever say Zak was a gun midfielder
Again, I just pointed out the wrong comment that he has rarely ever go on the park or played consistently
I just stated that he did in Sydney playing in a far better team

Re: Zak Jones
A point of agreement!
We all agree Zac is not a gun.
But how do we persuade the selectors, or doesn't Zac need any help with that.

Re: Zak Jones
I think Jones will struggle to get a game again this season.
Will need to reinvent himself outside of the midfield as guys like Garcia, Dow, and Windhager will all be selected ahead of him.
