Half backs vs StK
Who turn was it this week
You guessed it
Both GWS highest ranked players
Lachie Whitfield 34 disposals 10 score involvements
Lachie Ash 26 disposals
Their bounce off HB was significant
We actually won the midfield battle
Seb Ross ran with Coniglio and had the better of him
Steele beat Tom Greene
Windhager beat Josh Kelly
Marshall smashed Briggs

Re: Half backs vs StK
Maybe we need a defensive forward

Re: Half backs vs StK
Our defensive forward play seems almost non existent of late. I noted at one point, maybe half time, it was 13-4 forward 50 tackles (we were the 4). This used to be our bread and butter (or maybe bread and Butler), we get the ball inside 50 and it doesn’t come out til we score. Now it seems like one of worst aspects.
Also don’t know the stats but just on the eye test we seem to be getting smashed on opposition transition from our backline

Four disposals, 2 goals.
Butler had ONE disposal. One.
Two goals, or even two misses, would’ve been rather handy this afternoon.

Re: Half backs vs StK
I don't think either of those half backs caused the turnovers that ultimately resulted in game killing goals that lost the game for us. Nor did they have any influence on the goals our forwards missed.
Again, you have said it often, the half back role is a gimme when it comes to possessions. Someone needs to collect possessions, much better it be than a half back.

Re: Half backs vs StK
Based on today's game as well as his form in other games this year it is Garcia who would come into the 22. He also laid 7 tackles. Only Saints to lay more was Ross with 7.
