Most AFL coaches past and present will tell you it takes at least 25 premiership type players to be a serious contender. Depth of a certain quality and match hardness, a critical mass.
You have 14 in the yes category and 13 in the maybe category.
Now seasonally correct for those in your yes and maybe category that we won't know if they are going to make the grade or not for another few seasons.
Still need at least 2 to 3 seasons at the draft to stockpile more potentials, think of it like the "funnel effect" you fill up the funnel as high as you can and then hope a few keepers fall out the spout.

If you look at players aged 27 and under we have no genuine clearance midfielders. In the next two years we need to select a couple of midfield guns or there'll be no chance of winning the big one any time soon

I like BM’s optimism that players in the current team will be in our elusive second premiership team. Would be amazing to see one sometime over the next decade.
