Re: Marcus Windhager
Daicos is needs time and space, if he hasn't got the advantage of hanging off the ball with easy recieves, he is literally useless.
So many of their players ducking out the back for an easy kick to a block or rebound.
Collingwood are no where near fit enough to keep up with us.

Re: Marcus Windhager
Forget all the talk about him being a tagger or backline player...think back to his game against Geelong a few seasons ago.....he announced himself as our number one midfielder tonight...
Just massive if he can repeat that performance on a weekly basis...just massive.

Re: Marcus Windhager
I think being Spud's game and Windy now wearing number 2 had a lot to do with his kamikaze style tonight.
As ex-president Peter Summers said:
“If we are going to be a contender, we may as well plan to win the bloody thing.”
St Kilda - At least we have a Crest!

Was very good at the clearances.
Nice to see him get reward for his hard work.
Windy, NWM & Mitch look like a great draft haul.

That's the reason we all used to love Lenny
I love it. His ferocity and his ability to get to repeat contests was a big reason why we won

Announced himself on the big stage. Future captain. Though he got us going when the chips were down

Re: Marcus Windhager
That was his coming of age game. He was everywhere.
There was a chain where NWM gave the ball to Owens who gave it to Windy and I’m like that was the class draft haul that propelled us. Amazing stuff.

Re: Marcus Windhager
The day this kid played for us I just saw a pure footballer "midfielder" who is Selwood like....my team will win. Tonight he showed what he can do and surely the coaches can see it. I started to have my doubts but he's been injured and played in the wrong position and as a tagger. Tonight RTB should know he is our #1 mid. I've been excited by Owen's, Nas, Pou, Wilson etc but tonight maybe others will see it. Remember we are the sliders according to everyon

Re: Marcus Windhager
Amazing game. Probably would've won last week if he played full time mid on Dangerfield

Re: Marcus Windhager
Yep. Feels like he’s since the second quarter last week, he’s been doing the role us here on SS wanted him to do last year. Not a defensive forward or a shut down BP, a running defensive mid that wins his own ball too

Re: Marcus Windhager
His game tonight was exactly what we wanted to see - dynamic, tough, hungry with skill and poise
Loved every second watching him break out in real time .... just needs to back it up now week in week out.
Now if can just get Dow to fully reach his pick no 2 potential ..... he showed glimpses last year

Re: Marcus Windhager
He said himself post-game last week he wanted to make amends…he did that in spades
The challenge now is to go to last night’s level on a consistent basis ….he starts doing that ….then lookout
I think , I hope finally we are seeing a changing of the midfield guard from 1 paced to more dynamic, youth driven

Re: Marcus Windhager
I actually thought he had some seriously good moments in the Geelong game. Showed the way with his intensity around the footy on a couple of occasions.Teflon wrote: ↑Fri 22 Mar 2024 9:46am He said himself post-game last week he wanted to make amends…he did that in spades

But last night was just massive step in the right direction. Changes the whole complexion of our midfield if he can do that most games. Will lift us to within top 4.

Re: Marcus Windhager
Brilliantly developed by StKilda teaching a defensive game. He is now a complete mid.

I have said many times we will make finals and if marcus maintains that level of input…..hmmm just maybe
