what happens if we win our opening two games ?
Will it be a reasonable indication that we are on the right track recruiting wise and another feather in RTB's cap ?
will the perpetual pessimists on here start changing tack?

There’ll be a fair bit of bandwagoning re Ross the SuperCoach in the media.
In reality, I reckon we might beat the Cats but the Pies five days later will be quite a struggle.

My general sense of here is one of optimism at the moment
I was and have always been one of the harsher critiques of the 07-11 era and was nervous when RTB was reappointed… but he’s certainly head and shoulders above anything we’ve had since he left and credit where credits is due, based on performance it was a close to full marks grade from me.
Looks to me like after one season, he’s gotten better since the first run. I’m not reading much in the way of ppl suggesting he isn’t the best pick for us at the moment.
**Edit
I saw this post before the other. I get it now

There will be incontrovertible proof pigs do fly. And that's my operating hypothesis anyway.

I think we'll be setting ourselves for our home game at the MCG and beating the Pies on their home deck.
Not saying we aren't setting ourselves for the Geelong game but I think this is how the unsaid psychology of it all will unfold.

Re: what happens if we win our opening two games ?
Depends on how Collingwood go this week, and Geelong go next week.
If we beat teams that havent won a game after 2 or 3 games, nothing special.
Geelong showed last year being reigning premiers doesn't mean much the following year. You become the hunted.
We got excited last year after beating bulldogs and freo who were both potential top 4 but ended up having dud seasons.

I reckon we are in for a huge reality check over the next 2 weeks. A 50 point drubbing coming up at the Cattery and then a similar margin against the Filth. I hope I'm wrong!!!

Re: what happens if we win our opening two games ?
Geelong realised early last year that a full throttle rebuild is closer than a full throttle tilt at another premiership any time soon.
Do you really think their senior players will be as hungry as ours and as focused as ours? Their captain is already reminiscing on his great career and declaring he should have won more Brownlow medals
Collingwood are still in premiership celebration mode

We won our opening 4 last year.
We should do at least that this year.
In Ross (a fit Seb) we trust.
We should have too much run for Geelong and maybe even Collingwood ... if we shut down Daicos this time.
I hope RTB comes up with a plan for both N.Daicos and Crisp to stop/curb/limit their run ... something he ignored to our detriment last year.
I think those two players are pivotal.
I trust he reads this forum for some valuable match-winning tips
