Forward Line
This is how I would set them up
Higgins Hill
Membrey
King
Butler
Hayes/Marshall
Phillipou/Owens to play as a seventh
The other in the midfield
Sharman as back up
My Wingers are Wood and Henry/Hill/Wilson
Back up Byrnes
Inside Mids
Steele, Crouch, Owens, Dow, Clark, Ross, Jones - Sinclair
Rucks
Marshall and Hayes (Keeler to play at some stage)
Sub options - stupid fkn concept- but anyway

Backs are settled

7th defender - Windhager
Back Ups

Schoenmaker - Cordy - McLennan
Bonner - Van Es - Stocker
Byrnes - Ross - Allison

Re: Forward Line
Wow! Major BM demotion
Can only agree though.
Membrey will need to show he still has it with Sharman and Caminiti ready to take his spot

Re: Forward Line
Hill played HHF most of last season - a bit on the wing
Wood and Byrnes played wing mostly
I would rotate the wings through HF and off the bench
My outside IC player would be Wilson

Re: Forward Line
That is where he played 80% in 2023, he just plays high and with his running capacity is basically a 3rd winger.

Re: Forward Line
I imagine how and where the ball comes into the forward half will be a particular focus for RL over the next 6 weeks. He did a great job in fine tuning the defence over the last preseason, and I imagine his major focus this preseason will be to improve our scoring output.

Re: Forward Line
The forward half seemed too congested in season 2023, with too many all running to the same position, or the smalls not running hard enough to make space or to gather the loose ball. I think tactically, we didn't do a great job in the forward half and I would want to see some improvement in that area this season. King needs to be a bit more mobile and run his direct opponent around more, but I'm sure if he is fit, he will hit the scoreboard enough. It will be interesting to see how Lyon uses the available players in the forward line

Re: Forward Line
Am I right in saying that Sandy has to have 12 players and we make up the rest as its a aliment team.
If that is the case and we don't have many injury's wouldn't that really affect our younger guys development as some would have to miss each week.
