Haynes
There seems to talk on BF re a trade that nets Haynes AND pick 15
how does that work? old (yet still effective) expensive Player and Salary dump = pick 15?
Seems like it would be too good to be true
So in theory we could lose gresh, gain shiel and 13 (maybe unrealistic)
Take Haynes and Pick 15
trade whatever for Henry and maybe change to the bombers
again just seems a little too good to be true especially for us sainters who are used to the general cursed luck

Re: Haynes
Haynes was severely back ended on his deal like $1.3 owing this year.
not playing as 4 guys in front of him . GWS looking for salary dump
Coffield gone gives help in HBF position
would want a pick also perhaps give up 32

Maybe 5 years ago.
Are we a dumping ground for salary cap dumps?

Re: Haynes
So if it comes to pass, the Haynes thing, does that mean we will have procured 2 FRDPS? and then throw in our own FRDP to make 3 FRDPs ??
Good plan if it comes off.
Turning those picks into winners is the bit we have stuffed up repeatedly over a couple of decades so here's hoping Lyon has the magic if he is given 3 picks.

Re: Haynes
So if this nets is pick 15, we manage to get pick 13 as compensation for Gresham and our own FRDP. Then turn the Coffield pick in to Henry and we have done an amazing job at the trade table.
Out: Gresham, Coffield and lost of cash
In: Haynes, Shield (2 years of pain), & Henry + pick 12,13 & 15.
Ideal... then imagine if we could use 13 & 15 to move up the draft order..... hmm

Re: Haynes
Let's hope that this report is true
and let's hope we use the pick in the
National draft
Chris Toce will find good young talent
if he's allowed to do his job.
It's important to remain competitive so that we can attract some A grade talent as free agents
Haynes and Shiel on the list will do that.
There'll obviously be injuries but also retirements
coming for Sebby and Webster. The most durable
out of the older bunch will keep getting contracts

Re: Haynes
Who are we talking about here? Nick Haynes - He's 31 and will be 32 in May next year. What is going on here?
As ex-president Peter Summers said:
“If we are going to be a contender, we may as well plan to win the bloody thing.”
St Kilda - At least we have a Crest!

Re: Haynes
Great news.
Season 2024 is where RTB is showing the footy world his grasp of the modern game.
