Xavier Duursma

Post: # 2031614Post SaintPav »

Duursma is still out of contract at Port.

Is he worth pursuing?

He’s been a bit of a show pony but he does have a bit of skill and speed.

Has he got any upside that Lyon and co could potentially exploit?

Interesting. Maybe worth pursuing. What’s happened with our interest in Bergman?

I think Port have used a few others in the middle and with Willie Rioli coming into the side plus Jason Horne-Francis, he wasn't' getting as much opportunity

Duursma was playing the high Half forward role with some time in the middle.

He had a terrific start to his career and was travelling ok until a couple of injuries including a very heavy concussion. He lost a fair bit of confidence and he hears footsteps these days. Drops marks too easily

Maybe a change and some consistency in one position might help him get back to top form

I think the knock on Duursma is his disposal is ordinary, we have to avoid these ball butchers.

Will we pick up a player in the SSP window :?:

Ah, right. I guess we don’t really need that type of defender, anyway.

He’s bog average

Gets lumped in with superstars Rozee and Butters because he was drafted with them

But he’s nowhere near their level

Possibly the most overrated player in the AFL

Someone should take that pretend bow and arrow off him and shove it up his Duursma, before he takes out a pretend eye.

If we did recruit him, he has to leave it in Adelaide.

From memory his uncle who played in the 80s was ordinary too.

Draw a line through him.

Only take him if he brings his brother.

The brother is a gun, Xavier is average IMO.

Xavier is the Tony Brown in the Smith, Jones, Brown trilogy to Roozee, Butters, Duursma.

The other two are very good and he is well below them.

Yes! A.K.A. The Cloke Phenomenon

Great comparison to Smith, Jones & Brown.

How does he ‘bring his brother’?

He is projected to go top 3 in the draft
