Re: Bedford misses
AFL 360 doing and saying everything they can tonight to get them to appeal and get him off.
Of course Gerard Whateley never shows much love for St Kilda.

Re: Bedford misses
Fast small forward from cowboy country in the West Kimberley who played us in round 10 from memory. Apparently he requesting a trade to Giants from Melbourne last year.

Re: Bedford misses
What was disgraceful was the Giants requesting, Carlton agreeing to, and the AFL permitting Fisher to testify on Bedford's behalf. "I don't remember much about it, miss, but I think I might have done more to evade the hit."
I sometimes find myself thinking that the AFL disciplinary process couldn't get more ridiculous and then it does.
Sigh. AFL: the best sporting product on earth, managed by a bunch of total amateurs.

Re: Bedford misses
Also a good first class cricketer played for Melbourne & Victoria.
Sir Donald Bradman saw a future for him & tried to entice him to South Australia.
However he decided to focus on football.

Peter Bedford is one of a select group who has played football for their State and made a shield century for their State. George Young is also in that group ( George went one step further- being an All-Australian in1972).

I’m pretty sure Bruce Douperouzel (sp?) also played cricket for WA with GY.
With the footy cricket combo, theSaints a few good ones.
Keith Miller went ok
Simon O’Donnell
Sam Loxton
Probably a fair few more.

Re: Bedford misses
Bedford was probably a bit unlucky but I think it was the correct decision.
He has been good this year. Seems like he has beefed up a bit as well.

The Giants got another report from the biomechanics expert.
They reckon this report will help for sure.

Re: Bedford misses
They could get an expert in film technology and get him erased from the footage. At least the could say that he wasn't involved.
The biomechanics expert will be told to say that contact was unavoidable therefore he should get off. What a crock!

Re: Bedford misses
On what basis are they allowed to appeal?
Zac Fisher who should never had been allowed to provide “evidence” was hardly convincing.

Re: Bedford misses
Gerard Whateley has spent a lot of time last 2 nights on AFL 360 lobbying VERY hard for Bedford to be cleared.
I presume he has been doing the same thing on SEN. Will not let it go.
Quizzing RTB about it and Kingsley showing replays of the vision over and over.

Re: Bedford misses
His ratings must be falling or he is jealous of KCorns increasing influence. Some of GWs sen stuff seems to border on hysterical lately eg ring the trade bell. Sounds like the bottom being scraped.StPeter wrote: ↑Wed 06 Sep 2023 12:28am Gerard Whateley has spent a lot of time last 2 nights on AFL 360 lobbying VERY hard for Bedford to be cleared.
