Going for early surgery for their stars....

Cats are done ... Dogs will win meaning GWS will have to win to play Finals given Dogs % is better

Dogs are not over the line. They are on the verge of imploding. Cats will lift at home to give thanks to their fans, Scott won't want to lose 2 in a row, Hawkins can't run anyway, Rodney Dangerfield will have something to prove and our form in beating the Cats shouldn't be down played. I can see Cats winning easily.

B-Grade Geelong team would still best WCE by 15 goals at home.

Bulldogs couldn’t manage that. Far from a done deal

I think Dogs have got it. Cats have checked out and have nothing to play for

The best thing that can happen is the Dogs beating Geelong and then only to lose 8th spot to GWS if they beat Carlton.

I’m more worried about the chances of us having to play an elimination final against the Swines at the SCG. We haven’t gotten to play a final in Melbourne since 2011. It would be a shame for us to not get one after that long.

With Libba back they will beat a B-Grade Cats by 5+ goals even if it is down at their boutique dungheap

If I had a choice between Sydney at the SCG or Port in Port, or Brisbane in Brisbane - I'd choose Sydney every time.

Damn..so the Cats/Bulldogs game has no bearing whatsover? - on us facing the Swindling, Swiney, Sneaky, Shameful, Sickening, Spoiled, Smug Swans?

Fox
6. ST KILDA (13-9, 108.9%)

Round 24 game: Brisbane Lions at the Gabba, Saturday 4:35pm

Win: Finish 5th if GWS def Carlton, 6th if Carlton def GWS

Lose: Finish 6th if Sydney (vs Melbourne) and GWS (vs Carlton) both lose, 7th if one loses, 8th if both win*

Analysis: What a remarkable 24 hours that was for the Saints, ending Geelong’s season and then having a stunning upset by West Coast secure their place in September. We’ve been critical of their form but nobody can argue they don’t deserve a finals spot. A home final is a realistic possibility too, even if they lose to Brisbane at the Gabba (as most would expect). At worst, the Saints could slide down to 8th - they’re around nine or 10 goals ahead of GWS on percentage. So a five-goal loss to Brisbane combined with a four-goal GWS win would likely be enough to close the gap. Not impossible, right? Perhaps more importantly, they’d really like Melbourne to beat Sydney, because that makes it less likely they’d have to travel for their first final.

Prediction: Finish 7th, away to Sydney Swans in an elimination final

The round is a bit of a balls up with the game order.

I reckon Round 24 - all games 2pm Saturday.
