Points against
After playing 22 games this season, our points against tally stands at 1,575, averaging 71 points per game which is the best in the competition. This marks the club’s second-best defensive record since 2009 when we conceded 1,411 points at an average of 64 points per game.
Additionally, it surpasses our performance in 2010 when we allowed 1,591 points (averaging 72 points per game). Therefore, it is likely the second-best defensive result in the club's history over a 22-game span.
Considering the rule changes implemented since 2009/10, such as the 6-6-6 and man on the mark rules aimed at increasing scoring, this achievement becomes even more impressive.
Note: I’m not including 2020 which was a shortened year and involved shorter quarters.

Now that's are more compelling statistic than W/L, when comparing last year to this year.SaintPav wrote: ↑Mon 21 Aug 2023 12:39pm After playing 22 games this season, our points against tally stands at 1,575, averaging 71 points per game which is the best in the competition. I think it’s obvious that we are better than last season and that we have a better coaching group. The G Train Legacy wrote: ↑Mon 21 Aug 2023 1:48pmNow that's are more compelling statistic than W/L, when comparing last year to this year.SaintPav wrote: ↑Mon 21 Aug 2023 12:39pm After playing 22 games this season, our points against tally stands at 1,575, averaging 71 points per game which is the best in the competition. Just look at the jobs we did on Curnow and Cameron the last few weeks.

He doesn't. Cordy is showing that he's a better defender.

Ross mentions the assistant coaches at most pressers, although he still doesn't know their first names. If quality as a player is any indication of success as an assistant coach then this group must be the best ever. If Corey Enright had played for us, I am sure we would have had a lot more silverware. Just the perfect player. Never made a mistake and always took the best option. Used his body to out manoeuvre opponents brilliantly.

Dougal should be right for the first week of finals. I don't think a fractured wrist would have much effect on his fitness. Dougal can make some mistakes under pressure but this is bought about by lack of pressure upfield during a game. With the pressure we have applied in the past three weeks he would be enjoying his footy in the same way Wilkie, Battle and Cordy are.

Cordy does the basics right and keeps things simple.
On the other hand, Dougs complicates things.

"And at last I see the light
And it's like the fog has lifted
And at last I see the light
And it's like the sky is new
And it's warm and real and bright
And the world has somehow shifted
All at once, everything is different"
