So what’s the deal with Hunter Clark?
18 touches - 9 kicks, 9 handballs and 2 tackles - quite an impressive return over essentially 2.5 quarters.
When he came on, had class and poise… not every disposal was a winner but when your attempting eye of the needle clutch plays, you get a pass on being a few centimetres out here and there. And that’s all it was.
Got injured again which is a worry… always seems to cop something on the head, which is weird. Makes me uncertain if there’s a fitness issue at play.
The other thing that stands out is he looks soooooo unhappy. Out right miserable and terse on his interactions with staff.
The scuttlebutt has been for a while that he wants out with more recent threads suggesting that RTB doesn’t want him either. The lack of a new contract being signed seems to be the biggest indicator of one or the other.
It’s a killer though because he’s exactly what this team needs in many respects, a cool, calm decision maker with excellent disposal and deft touches. I would really hate to see him go.
Anyone got any thoughts to add or updated scuttlebutt. Is he def out?

I like him, I'd love him to stay at the Club for all the obvious reasons, he's smart, he draws tackles and he always tries to make the smarter decision with a disposal. He's different to every other midfielder we have, he's not quick of leg but three moves ahead in mind.
I am envisaging a Acres fvck up with Hunter.

Prefer to keep him.
If it's any consolation, he seemed to be singing the song with gusto.

18 disposals in 38% game time is an excellent stat projecting to a full game means over 40.
He has a bit of the X factor which we need.
He is definitely worth keeping and I agree with Ghost Like, lets not let another slip like we let Acres go, or more to the point, pushed him out.

Re: So what’s the deal with Hunter Clark?
I saw his excitement and energy when Rowan kicked the sealer to bury them. I think that's a sign. I hope it was
He has to learn to be ready for the late hits. It was something that didn't look different to dozens of other similar late bumps.
I don't think he was taken high and I don't think he hit his head on the ground. I think it was more a whiplash type injury
As a football club, we need to complain to the umpires bosses and make sure it doesn't happen to our players
Agree. Impressive display
Good players are targeted and opposition teams know that Hunter is one our playmakers.

They all should wear helmets with a carbon fibre frame. The fact that players "don't like them" is irrelevant to how the game has evolved. At some stage in the future, bumping (in its various forms) of players will also be outlawed. I saw two instances of "tunneling" bumps in the Collingwood/Brisbane game where both players received back injuries. The perpetrator of the first was the recipient of the second.

I think Hunter has put on a growth spurt. Looks quite strong and happy. Playing well.

I’d love him to stay at the club ahead of a lot of players, clearly has some star qualities

The pussies are really f****** dogs. Couldn't match us for speed or skills so resorted to roughing us up. Plenty of dog acts during match.Scollop wrote: ↑Sun 20 Aug 2023 2:55am I saw his excitement and energy when Rowan kicked the sealer to bury them. I think that's a sign. I hope it was

The maggots were a wake up to them too, hence the huge free kick discrepancy.

It was a fair bump, but hopefully someone will tuck it away for next time and equalise … within the rules of course

Re: So what’s the deal with Hunter Clark?
Hunter Clark made a difference yesterday when he came on, was very good. He really doesn't seem happy though and I wouldn't be surprised if he looks to be traded out again at end of year.
I personally feel both he and Gresham will leave....

Yeah, I saw that footage. He just got dumped. I wouldn't have been happy either.silverhalo wrote: ↑Sun 20 Aug 2023 7:49pm Hunter Clark made a difference yesterday when he came on, was very good.
