Another win with an injury depleted side
Again we won with a forward line lead by teenagers. One quarter with Marshall forward turned the game our way. Hayes back means more Marshall forward. Membrey means Owens can play mid forward and King back means we have a target.
Coffield looked fantastic first gsme back also.
Amazing we are in the 8 with such an injury depleted list.

Re: Another win with an injury depleted side
I have heard from a very reliable sauce the AFL are tonight considering for the first time in the history of the game changing this years finals 8 series to a top 4 finals series on the account there are not enough AFL standard sides to justify a top 8 finals series.

Re: Another win with an injury depleted side
Looking at the injury lists of both teams, I think they're about even.
Would you trade King and Membrey for Simpkin, Wardlaw and Zurhaar?

And Umps were great today too, I thought (not being sarcastic)! North supporters didn;t think so.
Plus we were playing on a surface like Kananook Creek.

Lol
Curly cries more than an English cricket fan!
We’re the only team with injuries apparently
And I guess I’ve missed the thread about the quality of umpiring?

Re: Another win with an injury depleted side
We're the only team in the top 8 that has had three of their starting 6 forwards missing 90% of the year. Take Miochek Elliot and Cox out of Collingwood all year see where they are at.

Re: Another win with an injury depleted side
Our young players are maturing and picking up any slack due to injury.
They are gaining in match experience and have benefited from another preseason.
We have more depth than last year, in effect.

Curly isn't crying, he is pointing out that despite our significant injury list we are still up there.
I'd like to have a cry about our poor skills atm.

Nah, definite tears, I think he helped rain out the fifth Test in Manchester! The Fireman wrote: ↑Mon 24 Jul 2023 10:33amCurly isn't crying, he is pointing out that despite our significant injury list we are still up there.

He has a list of excuses he goes to every week to try minimise bad performance, have a look, it’s like clockwork.
Umpiring, fixture, travel, injuries, weather etc., he starts at the top and goes down til he can find something. Umpires looked after us again this week so even he couldn’t twist that into a sook, so he’s landed on injuries.
I would suggest he have a look at the North injury list, much longer than ours, haven’t won a game in 15 weeks and we only just managed to fall over the line.
It’s never the playing group / coach, always something else!

Re: Another win with an injury depleted side
You have no clue at all. Clearly never coached let alone played. Three key forwards out and we still win. It's not as simple as you the know nothing claim.The_Dud wrote: ↑Mon 24 Jul 2023 11:13amNah, definite tears, I think he helped rain out the fifth Test in Manchester! The Fireman wrote: ↑Mon 24 Jul 2023 10:33amCurly isn't crying, he is pointing out that despite our significant injury list we are still up there.
