I have worked it out.
We need to finish in the mid tier of the competition to get a more favorable draw next year - so that is 7 - 12.
Therefore rather than risking finishing 5th and going out in the first week anyway - we are targeting 7th and same result guaranteeing the mid tier draw next year
BTW Massive /S
Squiggle now has us missing the 8 based on 12 wins and a percentage of 101.2
That is:
- North - Win
- Hawthorn - Win
- Carlton - Loss
- Richmond - Win
- Geelong - Loss
- Brisbane - Loss

Re: I have worked it out.
I have us winning 2 more maximum
11 wins which is one less than last year I think?
Disappointing from 5-1
Means we’ve gone 6-11 since r6

LOL - after the last couple of efforts - I could see 0-6 as a result

Me too. Almost got done by the worst team of the last decade and we’ve already been beaten by the Hawks.Sainter_Dad wrote: ↑Sun 16 Jul 2023 12:31pmLOL - after the last couple of efforts - I could see 0-6 as a result
A win against North & Hawks is definitely not a cert.

Re: I have worked it out.
What I don’t think you realise is, is if we finish 5th on the ladder, but bomb out after the first round of finals, we actually finish 7th in terms of draft picks and favourable draws for next year etc.
same goes if we finish 8th, and win week 1 of finals, we are actually a top 6 side at a minimum.

Bomb out badly and you miss out on more than just finals. You miss out on Friday and Saturday night games on prime time and sponsors aren't happy
It's a fine line between tanking for draft picks while keeping the members and sponsors happy
Hawthorn and West Coast supporters can handle sitting at the bottom after winning premierships. For us, it's a different caper

Re: I have worked it out.
yeah cant see another win..look so flat and the fumbling is off the chart, not sure why they have lost that desperation but I hope RTB can get it back.
if we cant get a ruckman and a mid we will struggle for a bit

Last week took a lot out of the boys I think with 3 players going down so early, and we fought out the game against Melbourne. The Fireman wrote: ↑Sun 16 Jul 2023 2:29pm yeah cant see another win..look so flat and the fumbling is off the chart, not sure why they have lost that desperation but I hope RTB can get it back.

Marshall was unbelievable last week but he was exhausted by the end.
He was very fumbly and made mistakes early against the Suns. Maybe it would have been better to play him as our FF.

Re: I have worked it out.
I reckon your win/loss form table there could be about right. We still might beat Carlton though, depending on personnel available to both teams going into the game. Percentage sounds about right.Sainter_Dad wrote: ↑Sun 16 Jul 2023 12:21pm We need to finish in the mid tier of the competition to get a more favorable draw next year - so that is 7 - 12.

Have a look at the minis on Kayo. You might want to reconsider.samuraisaint wrote: ↑Sun 16 Jul 2023 3:39pmI reckon your win/loss form table there could be about right.
