Kudos Cooper Sharman
Aside from all the melts on here today think this deserves a mention- especially given we have a village idiot on here potting the kid constantly telling everyone he’s no good
Cooper was very good today and once again demonstrates he’s a smart player. Can lead and take a grab
But also lowers his eyes and makes good decisions
He’s a natural footballer who’s worked hard to get super fit and with some backing and confidence could be a real player.
Anyhow, enjoy Vort !

Re: Kudos Cooper Sharman
I don’t know that Coops makes it… but he’s clearly shown that he can compete at the level and deserves the opportunity to play and develop further.
IMO he’s the most natural looking forward we have. Not as tough as Caminati and doesn’t have King’s physical attributes but he’s the smartest and the only one we have that has an actual knack for leading, getting into space and taking a grab. I like the kid. Am excited at the prospect of him in a team that’s playing well as opposed to bombing it in.
A little kudos for RTB for giving opportunities the way he’s supposed to. Coops has got a taste, was dropped, worked hard for an opportunity and was granted it. That’s how it’s supposed to work. I’d like Bytel to get the same opportunity but that’s a different conversation.

He’s a touch of Fritz …touch of Gunston for me….could be very very handy in a developing side… kicks it well up field also
Smart decision maker in a sea of dumb players (we have a few headless chooks let’s be honest)

Loved this off BF

Every touch Sharman has had, has been effective and to a teammate- more football brains than the rest of the team combined today.

Re: Kudos Cooper Sharman
He has always seemed to me to be an natural forward, but over the past 2 years he has been played in just about every other position.
It has seemed crazy to me that this year, when we have had King and Membrey out for most matches, that he hasn't been tried as a forward more often.

I guess Higgins injury gave him an in
Caminiti gives a bigger body contest
Maybe Sharman takes Pou spot for a bit to give him a rest
Be good to see him play a few up there

Re: Kudos Cooper Sharman
Sharman shpowed an immense amount of early promise.
Then ... what happened?
He wasn't groomed as a forward. Played everywhere else, when he was played at all.
This CONTINUED under RTB. The bloke couldn't get even get a game.
Yet again, in today's presser, RTB praised Caminiti and Phillipou but didn't mention Sharman.
Seems bonkers to me. He'll very likely request a trade and who can blame him?

Re: Kudos Cooper Sharman
GC didn't pay him much respect yesterday, I need a much bigger sample size, and especially on a consistent basis against good opposition when the heat is on.
And on the point of Ross giving players a go, lets not kid ourselves, there are no options for him to play, Copper esentially is doing a Bradbury and getting a game because of our list condition.
If King and Members and Hayes are fit he's languishing at Sandy.
But good on him for having a go and making the most of his limited opportunities, not much more he can do but I'm a long way off saying he is part of the future. But I feel that way about 3/4 of our list.

It's because it's a well known around the club he will be gone at season's end as part of the big clean out. Camaniti has put paid to that I believe.Waltzing St Kilda wrote: ↑Sun 16 Jul 2023 3:11am Sharman shpowed an immense amount of early promise.

Re: Kudos Cooper Sharman
Without Cooper yesterday we would have struggled to kick five goals for the entire match - against the fifteenth-placed team in the league.
He improved our team when he came into the team after the bye in 2021 too.
Our best forward at the moment apart from Higgins, imo.
Nobody else presents a lead, or holds marks, or hits the scoreboard enough for mine.

Re: Kudos Cooper Sharman
He kicked three and was involved in two more goals- he did his job as a forward unlike the rest of the forward line.. and took a speccie as well.

Re: Kudos Cooper Sharman
Cooper just has to change the way he carries himself around the football club.
He needs to get a jokebook and appeal to Ross's sense of humour. Try and emulate his talking style and maybe copy the 'walk' as well
Just get in Ross's face. Share a gag with him. Ross will love it. That's why he goes to work. Forget about all the hoohaa about high performance culture.
Tell him you have a nicname better than Poo and Hammer. Tell him you're the Sharminator!!

I liked his low-down mark, and how he was able to get away and low for it.
You're quite brilliant Shane, yeah..terrific!
