Wonder when we will see DMac and Billings. Both would be walk up starts going on current form in the seniors. Perhaps McKenzie needs another run

Both on reduced minutes in the vfl
McKenzie looked like he needed the gallop - looked rusty
- as did Zak who was played out of position.

Will want to see 100+ minutes in the VFL before any selection.
A sub role doesn't really suit as I'd rather them get the full match fitness.

Re: Shrinking injury list
I dont think it's likely we will see Mackenzie this year. 12 injury repeats in 3 years, probably means it's a slow build up in the VFL into the end of year break and then a full pre-season or he gets chopped.
I'm not sure that Jones can still burst and not strain his injury. Played out of position may just be very precautionary. Probably won't see him either at this point.
If we can't replace them before contract deadlines, no point reinjuring them or dropping someone else, just to bring them back when M and J are (based on precedent) likely to re-injure themselves. So, reduced workloads in the VFL may be the go.

Re: Shrinking injury list
That's awesome. Jones has played 132 games in 9 years and has never played more than a dozen games in a row in 1 season. The likelihood of that happening is not very favourable.

Re: Shrinking injury list
Does that mean he's the equivalent of a low km car and will play until he's 40?

His burst of speed happens in seconds. Then his calves tightened up for weeks. If we could and only drive him Sundays to church and keep him in the shed the rest of the week, he should make 150 games by about 2025.

Think Zak may have been offered a little holiday.

Jones accepted the finding and was downgraded to a fine I think.longtimesaint wrote: ↑Mon 03 Jul 2023 4:05pmWhat happened here as Jones played on Saturday against Werribee?Bowey Boy wrote: ↑Thu 29 Jun 2023 10:33pm Think Zak may have been offered a little holiday.
