It's got to be a former St Kilda and Richmond player.
Ian Stewart. I know a few stories I could tell you about him.
But wont.
I've heard some. That's why Yabbie turfed him out the club.
Back then a work colleague told me of allegations.
Behaviour virtually ignored back then but gets at least 10 years now, and there is no statute of limitations.
Of course you have to be proved guilty and proof means witnesses or confession.
But even if you are 100% innocent the accusation is devastating and sticks to you like sh!t.
Clearing your name is impossible.
And your defence costs are bankrupting.
You may be innocent but pleading guilty will save you money like Milne was forced to do.
But for these stories bankruptcy is better than dying in jail.
What a crap legal system we have, the price to be found not guilty is bankruptcy, but even that will never really clear your name and reputation.

The more you know, the more you know you don't know.
When I was a young child, I knew that I knew so much about so much.
Now that I am old and know so much more, I know that I know so much about so little, and so little about so much.

Back then coaches had a day job as did players.
Yabbie was a police sergeant.

I recall Ian Stewart's car being stopped by cops near Sth Melb markets.
He was wearing a dress.
I cannot remember any other details though
A real Sainter will pledge allegiance to the ❤ and despise the Pies, the Blues, and the Injectors.

It was the wild west back then (compared to today), I bet there is a fair number of people sitting around today hoping stories from that era never come out.
Agree, but this one set me back on my haunches.
Hopefully it isn't true and won't emerge.
Bit as the heading say...brace yourself.
Is it like the Rod Owen tragedy?
If it's over 50 yrs ago, some of the ppl involved would be passed
No it's not. It's something I'd never heard of before.
Fingers crossed it idoesnt have legs.
You could say his departure cost us a Premiership. We lost the 71 GF by 7 points without him, while he won a third Brownlow at Richmond.
how funny
just had Aeon beating me around the ears with this very point
except she pontificates we would have 3 peated
71,72,73 ... no doubt about it ... with mr cervi still playing with us
u can see why i hide in here
.name the ways , thought manipulates the State of Presence away.

Meanwhile, everyone has supposedly fallen in love with Collingwood.
Sucks to be us!
My neighbour in her 60s life long saints supporter ..now barracks for Collingwood . She fell in love with the pies this year .
Could never understand how people can change their allegiance.
To be honest I wish I’d have chosen a different club as a kid but I honestly couldn’t bring myself to support anyone else.

I always believe changing footy clubs was akin to changing ones sex. Look at how things change.

The Stewart stories are all well known , and not at all new.
And basically by today's standards are not an issue. It was just back then it was deemed socially unacceptable.
Some of these haven't seen the light of day AFAIA. As I have said before Drake and my dad were mates but still, I only got snippets . They were bad enough.
I have no intention of sharing. Nothing to do with social unacceptance or otherwise.
