Swans screwed by Stevic and the other incompetents
10 minutes into the second quarter and it was 11 frees to the home team versus 5 to the Swans
Stoppage on the boundary line and Stevic is in perfect position to call a free kick for a clear throw from Atkins and he lets it go. Goal to Cyclops Mongol
Geelong were also awarded the first 4 frees of the game which got them 2 easy goals to settle the nerves. 3 of them were the wrong call or 50/50 at best
CURLY would be livid if he's tipped the Swans

Re: Swans screwed by Stevic and the other incompetents
If you ever needed a good start and some things to go your way it would be tonight with Sydney decimated by injury to their talls and their backline in particular
The umpires gifted Geelong a couple of early goals and kept missing obvious frees that should have gone Sydney's way
5 minutes to go until half time and the free kick count is...
14 to 7 Geelongs way

Re: Swans screwed by Stevic and the other incompetents
They'll always be hard to beat down at GMHBA but let's assess at the end of this match
If Swans mids can control a bit more of the footy and if they clean up their sloppy work they'll give them a fight.
They need to even numbers around stoppages and just kick torps and mungs when they're looking at long bombs or clearance from their defence. Drop punts are going to be intercepted by Geelong's talls

Why has Longmire got Francis playing as a leading KPF. He's useless at this level as a forward

Re: Swans screwed by Stevic and the other incompetents
Mitch Duncan should get 4-6 week if Cammo got 3
I was yelling at the t.v for Cameron Ling to say something like he usually does when ANY player from ANY opposition club goes the head high bump....
Crickets
Then Luke Darcy asked him to comment and see you next Tuesday says he's not sure if he made contact with the Swans player's head
How about Ling just stfu next time he's asked about one of our guys instead of crucifying us like he normally does

The Duncan incident is the first one of its kind since Paddy Ryder copped weeks for standing his ground in the worst suspension decision this side of Steven Baker. If common sense prevails will play next week.

Re: Swans screwed by Stevic and the other incompetents
The commentators on Fox Footy saying now it was 'shoulder on shoulder'. Fkn Bullshitt!!
I paused the vision and it clearly shows Duncan targets Fox's head with his shoulder bone. Duncan's shoulder doesn't touch Robbie's shoulder.
We all know Duncan is very good at hitting his targets
Duncan didn't need to lower his shoulder bone into Robbie Foxes head
If Robbie Fox was a 'name' player Duncan would be odds on to cop weeks. For example, can you imagine the fallout if he did it to Heeney? I just hope channel 7 replay the incident a dozen times more like they normally do when it's a Saints player...with choolotto and Michael Christian there's no guessing what's going to happen

Duncan is fine nothing in that.
As for the frees Swans have had more frees than StKilda last week.

Re: Swans screwed by Stevic and the other incompetents
Fox lost his feet or he'd tripped as he was running in and he was basically sliding towards a collision. His head was going to hit Duncan's guts or stomach
Duncan didn't have to take out Fox with his shoulder. Duncan could have avoided the collision or he could have taken the impact in his midriff rather than lowering his shoulder and targeting Fox's head
The vision shows Fox got the double whammy. Impact to his head from Mitch Duncan's shoulder plus impact from the turf. If it was Nathan Murphy...he'd be dead
There was forceful contact with the head ...so he has to be cited
The narrative from all the coccksuckerss on t.v was that Duncan had no other option

Cats flat track bullied the Swines tonight
Swines had their 2 big kp forwards out and their 3 best kp backmen.

i think the Swans lost because the Cats have their measure.
Thrashed on GF day and thrashed again almost 7 months later, not up to it, regardless of the excuses.

Re: Swans screwed by Stevic and the other incompetents
There is no doubt that Duncan and Fox were going to collide. The Collision was unavoidable. The decision by Duncan to make contact with Fox’s head WAS avoidable.
Remember a couple of weeks ago when Jeremy Cameron collided with an umpire and bowled him over?
Cameron had just kicked a goal and he was looking at the crowd and doing a run for his goal celebration and he ran straight into the umpire.
Cameron genuinely took care and embraced the umpire to ensure that the umpire doesn’t smash his head on the turf. Cameron wasn’t even looking at the umpire but he sensed the collision and he acted within a fraction of a second.
That’s what these guys are trained to do. That’s why they are professional athletes. Duncan had the advantage of looking at what was unfolding in front of him - Cameron didn’t and yet Cameron made the decision to take responsibility in that fraction of a second
https://au.sports.yahoo.com/jeremy-came ... 00349.html
What the MRO has to decide is whether Fox and Duncan are contesting the footy. I reckon Duncan knows that Fox has slipped and he knows that the footy is not going to be within reach of Fox’s hands or feet. He also knows that he is about to collide with Fox.
Is it ok to brace for contact when you know you are making head high contact with someone who is not in the contest? Is it ok if your opponent is in a vulnerable position and is it ok if you lower your centre of gravity and make contact with an opponents head?
Instead of lowering his shoulder and knocking the stuffing out of Fox and saying that he ‘braced’ for contact, I think in today’s environment in AFL that Duncan should be suspended for at least 4 weeks. I’m surprised that Fox played out the game. Most other players would have been concussed.
If it was Nathan Murphy…just think (and Murphy was genuinely concussed from a hit like that and they had stretches on the ground and the whole drama of Murphy’s history being played out) …how many weeks would Duncan be facing?
Have a look at what Dane Rampe does to make sure that he reduces the chances of a head injury from the initial contact or a head injury from him causing the umpire to fall.

Zero. Just like Paddy should have gotten off.
Outcome shouldn't impact the decision. It should be only the four: intent, control, force, location. In Duncan's case, no intent, little control, low force (from Duncan's end) and high location.

Re: Swans screwed by Stevic and the other incompetents
Speaking of Duncan. Hiss appearance in the Geelong side seems to perfectly correspond with a losing team 0-3, suddenly switching on and winning the best three!
BTW
They have an incredible percentage of 137! From a 50/50 win loss.
If they start a run now, it is just not fair. I’m happy for Richmond to decline, Freo to have had a false dawn, Bulldogs to have mixed blessings, but Beelongs rise up the ladder is distressing.
I think we should really remember we should hate Collingwood most of all- especially now, but if Beelong get up, there is a challenger for the most hated club for a St Kilda fan.
RIP Barry Humohries

Re: Swans screwed by Stevic and the other incompetents
You are plain wrong in nearly all facets, but I'm not going to argue each point. You're trying to simplify it without any substance or evidence.
Let's just examine Intent by Mitch Duncan.
Without complicating things and without accusing Mitch of being a thug who wanted to inflict hurt on an opposition player, we have to assess what his options are.
The narrative has been that Fox was to blame for the collision because Fox went passed the footy. That being true, let's focus on what is allowed in today's environment.
Was it a reflex action by Duncan to lower his body and make contact with the point of his shoulder on R.Fox's head? Of course not. Duncan chose to do that.
Could Duncan have embraced Fox (cuddled him to the ground) to reduce the possibility of Fox getting concussion or Fox getting head trauma. Of course he could. He saw Fox sliding. He had that split second to decide what his action was going to be
He chose to drive the point of his shoulder into Fox's head. This is the 1 undisputable fact.
He's an experienced player who's been in hundreds of similar situations. It's an act he's probably gotten away with in the past.
Fox was not contesting the footy in the position he was in and did not pose a physical threat to Duncan.
The Mitch Duncan hit is the sort of action the AFL doesn't want to see in the game. It gives every other player a licence to go for the head if you see a player slip and they're sliding towards you.
The action by Duncan has the potential to cause concussion.
If he gets off, it shows once again how the MRO is heavily influenced by the media noise.
