Comparison with other recent fast starts

2019 - won four out of first five - only loss was by five points in Perth to Freo. Finished fourteenth.
2020 - won seven out of first ten - made semi finals.
2022 - won eight from first eleven - finished tenth.

How is this season different from those three?

My point is that we are not exactly in unchartered territory here, and apart from 2020 when we went on with it, in 2019 and last season we fell away badly.
From my perspective I am hoping that we can replicate last season's pre-bye form, and then replicate 2022's post-bye form where we played five or six of the best teams and beat them all - except Geelong at Geelong, and we even went close against them down there.

2019 quickly became about individual ego on this forum, in that it was all about how you rated Richo.

The fast start meant that his defenders felt vindicated, then the radical drop to the bottom gave the critics their “I told you so” moment also.

I’m glad we’ve somewhat moved on from a club consumed by modern ideology.

I’m more referring to Steele, King, Membrey, Coffield, Billings, McKenzie, Hayes, Webster, Jones, etc sitting in the stands.

Any other recent year would’ve seen us 0-4 with that calibre off the park.
