Very average. I miss the days of being able to turn the radio on and have it sync with the footage.

I watched the cricket. Although I love seeing both the filth and the pusseys getting a flogging. Unfortunately this game, one of them had to come out with the 4 points.

Funny, when we beat Geelong last year in round 9, apparently Geelong were just warming up. Collingwood do look good though.

Re: As a Neutral Supporter
We beat them both last season.
We have beaten Carlton 7 of the last 9 times we've played them.
We have beaten Richmond 3 out of the last 5 games we played each other.
I think we need to keep our sense of perspective here - i.e. Carlton haven't played finals based on their own performance since 2011 - 2013 doesn't really count because they were only promoted to eighth only after Essendon got relegated to ninth position by the AFL.

Was referring to the Geelong - Collingwood game, which was a whole lot better than the Thursday night one!samuraisaint wrote: ↑Sat 18 Mar 2023 2:25pmWe beat them both last season.

Re: As a Neutral Supporter
Port v Lions shows that the umpires can have a ridiculously lopsided free kick count & the team on the receiving can still be winning comfortably.

Richmond won multiple premierships while at the bottom of the ‘free kick ladder’.Ghost Like wrote: ↑Sat 18 Mar 2023 6:45pm Port v Lions shows that the umpires can have a ridiculously lopsided free kick count & the team on the receiving can still be winning comfortably.
Has very little influence on the outcome of a game.

It can be done. It’s not that hard.

Before last night we were the last team to beat Geelong.The_Dud wrote: ↑Sat 18 Mar 2023 6:42pmWas referring to the Geelong - Collingwood game, which was a whole lot better than the Thursday night one!samuraisaint wrote: ↑Sat 18 Mar 2023 2:25pmWe beat them both last season.

My point being that playing for draft position is a waste of time. Look at the Suns - all of those early picks and they are still useless.

Re: As a Neutral Supporter
I stand correctedSainter_Dad wrote: ↑Thu 16 Mar 2023 10:03pm That was one of the worst Umpired game of Football I have seen in a long time
Multiple occurrences of one rule for one team a differing rule for the other
Four Umpires still cant see multiple dropped balls by Carlton - but ping the Richmond one.
Just not up to it.
This was the opening game for the season and there were 88,000 people there to witness that haphazard umpiring
But the AFL will laud this as a great opener with a fantastically tense game that came down to the last kick.

Re: As a Neutral Supporter
Jeremy Cameron felt the power of the Blakenator
Blake helping out in defence and playing a blinder against Geelong
Acres easily 2nd best for Carlton after Curnow

Re: As a Neutral Supporter
Letting Acres and Bruce go set us back, Acres will help the Blues win a flag, Bruce would have accelerated the development of King and helped us win more games.

Re: As a Neutral Supporter
Acres had so much upside. Strong, could take a strong mark and skillful. Letting him go was another incredibly bad decision.
He played really well tonight, especially in that last quarter.

Re: As a Neutral Supporter
Only one thing more puzzling than St Kilda's decision to get rid of Acres, Freo's decision to clear him to Carlton for little reward.

Re: As a Neutral Supporter
I would have got him back at the club well before a few other recycled players we picked up. He will star for Carlton and it will haunt us even more.StPeter wrote: ↑Thu 23 Mar 2023 10:23pmOnly one thing more puzzling than St Kilda's decision to get rid of Acres, Freo's decision to clear him to Carlton for little reward.
