How quickly we forget
From the heraldsun.com.au
"Dank worked at the AFL-controlled Gold Coast Suns before his time at Essendon, supplied substances to Geelong in its 2009 premiership season (the calf’s blood extract Actovegin, which is legal, from a company in Ukraine) and was employed by Melbourne when the drugs scandal broke on February 5, 2013"

Re: How quickly we forget
James Hird and Shane Woewodin should return their Brownlow Medals after their engagement with the very shady Shane Charters.
Geelong......Mark Thompson/ 'The Weapon', etc from 2007 to 2009. It all adds up to something very dirty
Collingwood and their use of human growth hormones in 2010
We lost grand finals to those clubs. Makes you feel cheated

If only there was a drug that made players kick straight...cwrcyn wrote: ↑Mon 06 Feb 2023 1:07pm James Hird and Shane Woewodin should return their Brownlow Medals after their engagement with the very shady Shane Charters.

We'd have smashed the Cats in 2009 if we were on that!

I think the period from 2000-2010 was when the west was wild, not only on the West Coast. I wouldn't want any of our players from that period to be checked for anything.
You're quite brilliant Shane, yeah..terrific!

The only evidence you need is that of your own eyes.
Ratten called it out in 2012 when the Injectors suddenly looked like Schwarzenegger and blew Carlton off the park. "What's going on?"
Then you have the Pies, a slightly above average team that suddenly became an invincible force, blowing teams away by 70 pts every week. Absolutely indefatigable. Until the finals of 2011, that is, when a warning was probably issued.

Yes and post our GF loss to Collingwood, the story that was going to blow the AFL out of the water disappeared. You can’t even find a reference to it online anywhere. Eddie Ego at his very best.Waltzing St Kilda wrote: ↑Mon 06 Feb 2023 6:38pm The only evidence you need is that of your own eyes.

Rugby League would have to be the stupidest, most moronic and over rated game of all time.

Was Luke Ball managed significantly differently by Pies than us around that time? Seemed to get a new lease, but that could just be the change of scenery and feeling appreciated.

Geelong seemed to have slipped under the radar back in 2007 when they suddenly stopped getting injuries and a few players seemed to bulk up hugely in a short period of time- they went on to win the premiership.happy feet wrote: ↑Mon 06 Feb 2023 9:32pmYes and post our GF loss to Collingwood, the story that was going to blow the AFL out of the water disappeared.
