St Kilda did not entertain the request

Hunter Clark remains on St Kilda’s List

As an observation, Clark is a very highly skilled footballer, proficient off both sides

He has, unfortunately, suffered debilitating head injuries and other injuries over the past couple of seasons

I would expect that given a full pre season and an injury free season he will be a prime mover for St Kilda in 2023

Such is his skill

That it is reported he is working closely with Lenny Hayes can only be a positive
Saints did offer Hunter and pick 9 to North for pick 3

I for one am pretty happy that deal did not eventuate & believe the cards fell our way with Phillipou. Hopefully a rejuvenated and reinvented Hunter Clark, devoid of car crash injuries, who gets a decent run at a complete season.

Indeed. No guarantee pick 3 will turn out better than Phillipou and we still have Hunter, who hopefully will realise his potential.

Does anyone know who the preference for our first pick was?

Who knows. Perhaps with Essendon weighing up Tsatas and Phillipou, it may have been Phillipou

Anyway, we got a guy who was considered top 4 or 5 by many. When you consider we got Wanganeen-Milera, an outside runner at pick 11, to get a highly rated tall, versatile big bodied mid with pick 10 was a win for us

I think we were after Shezeel, he is the player with the point of difference to be a outright game winner.

Just been to the gym myself. Im nearly 60 and I bet Im lifting twice as much as Hunter Clark is! 😮‍💨
Did an F45 class at 4:45am, took the dog for a walk, went for a 6.5k run.

Eating and drinking commences in 4 minutes and 33 seconds and counting down.

Up at 5 am - took the hound for an hour walk, along the Swan River.
Then went to pool for a 2km swim.
Walked from home along the Swan River to Optus Stadium about 4 km, now sitting on my bum until 5.30pm watching the test match between Aus & West Indies. No doubt I’ll stand up & do stretches between overs!!

Then it will be a 4 km walk back from Optus Stadium to home. Ofcourse the hound will be wanting another hour long walk when I get home.

And I’ll rinse & repeat this until the Test match has concluded. 🦮🏊‍♀️🚶🏏🚶🦮
How do you find Optus Stadium for cricket loris? Do you miss the WACA? Is it a case of another State's test match dulled by "drop ins"?
Yep GL a ‘drop in’ that’s taken away the uniqueness of the former WACA wicket. Optus a brilliant footy stadium, but leaves me cold as a cricket venue.
The WACA was a true cricket ground. Bowlers had to have skills to bowl at that ground. Not to get too carried away with the bounce. The art of bowling into The Fremantle Doctor when the strong wind blew in. So often the state a game would change when the Doctor blew in. It was a wicket where only batters with skill & good technique could master a bowler.
Optus might be comfortable & have excellent amenities for the spectator, but it sure ain’t a cricket ground.
100% loris, this 2nd innings by the Windies is proof our traditional test grounds are but shadows of a grand test series against Australia. Boring, same ol' cricket that does not make any distinction between states.

Thanks Banger, being retired it is also followed by an afternoon nap 😴

Haven’t done one of the challenges but I’m contemplating it.

What about you?

My wife does it and I do a half arsed version.
Good for the body to have long periods without taking on calories and digesting.
Nothing wrong with a nap in the arvo, had one today.

Do not believe what you read in the media

A Number 9 Draft Pick with 60 games experience PLUS Pick 9 for Pick 3?

Hmmm

Pick 3 must have been exceptional - in which case why didn’t he go at 1?

Clark and Flipper’s Grandson for Pick 3

And the conversation is about how good our later Picks are

Cal Twomey is usually pretty well versed in all things draft and draft trading.
He is as a rule, not one of the usual uninformed speculative hacks who continue to fabricate stories.

A girl after my own heart Loris  I have much the same routine most mornings, walk 6 km with Max our mini foxy, like me an old timer, drags the chain starting out but catches up and stays with me rest of the way. We do a hilly route, used to run no problem but old age has taken its toll and just walk briskly. Great way to start the day!

Never liked gyms, prefer exercising in open air and get to see a few regulars along the way, alas no Saints supporters....maybe just as well as that might add an hour to the journey!
