Here’s a question
IF Lyon gets St Kilda to a GF and we lose by under a kick
Has he done his job??
Is his main job to orchestrate a side to get the opportunity or
Is it all or nothing - win a Flag or he’s failed??

Well, before injuries mounted, getting to a GF felt like a possibility under Ratten??
Same thing in 2020. Ryder does his hamstring 1 minute before the final siren in our win against the Dogs.
Yeah but apparently no one was taking that seriously… all the players and officials are constantly talking about it. Just don’t ask who they are or what they said.Scollop wrote: ↑Tue 01 Nov 2022 2:57amSame thing in 2020. Ryder does his hamstring 1 minute before the final siren in our win against the Dogs.
Ben Long gets suspended in that final. Carlisle goes home to be with his partner for the birth of their child and Nathan Brown had already retired a month before the finals
We'd beaten the Tigs earlier in the year by close to 5 goals... 15-3 to 10-7...highlights below of our win in the home and away rounds

So what's your theory as to why we didn't progress to become a sustained top 4 side after 2020, I mean we won a final right, why did it all go south from there, let me guess was it because another coach didn't give your pet youngins a "run of games" after showing good form in a crap VFL side. I think it goes a long way to answering your questions above
Why do you always think it’s the youngins who are letting us down? Maybe it was the senior players including James Frawley, Shaun McKernan and all the other imports like Higgins and Brad Crouch in their first year!!
Take note that this is your personal view in the link above ….from Jan 2021 with your prediction for that year. How did Hill and Hannas go in 2021?
We all remember the heat and media attention on Hill that year and it prompted the coach and Lethlean to come out in the media in support of our highest paid player. He was also being maligned (and that’s a nice way of putting it) by many on this forum during early 2021 after he put in some dismal performances
Ross the Boss and others were also in support of Brad in 2021 and apparently it was everyone else's fault in the team that he wasn’t going so well
Also take note of the Thread Heading and the comments by various posters about Brad Hill leading into our season 2021. I always blamed Lethlean for the Hill trade, but maybe my vitriol and everyone elses should be pointed in another direction….What I’d like to know … if any one has any inside word….Was it Ratts who was the catalyst for Hill to come to St Kilda? If yes…how does Ratts become accountable for that deal but Lethlean gets off scott free for the recruitment of Hannebery?
Vortex is a good judge of footy because he watches on t.v with the sound turned up. He listens and learns from the expert commentary teams with BT, Darcy, The drain Pipe and all the special comments guys like Cam Mooney and Ben Dixon and Cameron LingCross your fingers and whatever else that we avoid the injury curse over the next few seasons becuase this list is a really good one with geniune bonafide star quality on every line. I reckon you could mount a strongish argument that this list is better than the one between 2000 and 2011.
