This article is far more level-headed and a better constructed piece of writing than James Rosewarne’s lol:

Wouldn't you like a dollar for every word of bland speculation that is passed off as journalism.
And maybe another for rehashing well known history without adding to it.
Although it was surprising to be told no one knows the future. I had assumed Teflon had that covered.
Would be so rich.

I hate this article more than any i have read or heard about..
It has a ‘reasonable tone’ about it, but it is terrifying if true.
And it speed forth the most generic vomit that the cliched media factory of memes can spew forth!!
Delegate?
Soften up?
Modern ?
This is not why we get RL and it is precisely why we depart with BR!
Don’t let the great Shane Grambeau confuse you. I am not speaking if RL of old strategically of tactically, but we had better as hell hope that RL still has balls of steel and that he has not become a delegator. And all this nonsense about the Collingwood coach…that makes for spewiness too.
I hope Collingwood fall back next year. We will take their place, thanks very much..

Although, if they should continue next year with their good form, it would be most satisfying to upset their apple cart. Of course, the ultimate would be to one day avenge our 2010 loss and have them be the bride’s maids, while we rub a premiership cup in their grubby faces!

De Goey is obviously talented and can turn a game, when he's on.
Jamie Elliott is that rare player that is a level above anyone else on the ground.
To beat them, a team has to have all 22 players at close to 100% with a solid game plan...
They were 17th in 2021 maybe because of hungover damage from FIGJAM
A real Sainter will pledge allegiance to the ❤ and despise the Pies, the Blues, and the Injectors.

Yeah, there’s no denying they do seem formidable right now. But you know, they could always get a case of the dreaded Colliwobbles just when their big moment arrives lolWellardSaint wrote: ↑Thu 27 Oct 2022 12:47amThe Pies have the Daicos boys, who seem to play like 150 gamers, not pimply teenagers...Sainternist wrote: ↑Wed 26 Oct 2022 10:56pmAmen to that, brother!shanegrambeau wrote: ↑Wed 26 Oct 2022 6:25pm

The writer is judging RTB on the way he coached before 2019.
He's been in the media and real estate where he's learned how to play with others without grating on people.
Maguire reckons he's mellowed and learned a lot.
RTB referenced his own kids, saying he's learned to relate to those much younger.
He's a different Ross

1) Daicos boys.. yes..who did Ratts play on them? Gresh needs to step up. NWM to be a level better..JOnes becomes the tagger-annihilator..reinvented as the next Steven Baker..the Studebaker!WellardSaint wrote: ↑Thu 27 Oct 2022 12:47amThe Pies have the Daicos boys....Sainternist wrote: ↑Wed 26 Oct 2022 10:56pmAmen to that, brother!shanegrambeau wrote: ↑Wed 26 Oct 2022 6:25pm

.....Jamie Elliott is that rare player .....

2) De Goey- his season wasn't great. Played two and half good finals. No doubt he has got talent. New contract, explosiveness is his forte. Will not be a consistent force. Windy will take him down.
3) Elliot..Jack Higgins has a way to go. Yes, Elliot has class. He's got a bit of Gunston, a bit of Toby Greene etc. etc..but our defensive structures will have to limit his impact. If Paton can get back to the promise he showed and stay away from Roughie
Watch this and somehow change the result!
Our mids included Owens and Byrnes
Our forwards, Kent!!
You're quite brilliant Shane, yeah..terrific!

The Lyon of 2009-2015 did get his teams into finals, although couldn't go all the way. I don't think a changed, mellow Lyon will do much better than Ratts, and he needs to channel that old coach that he was. Some seem to be looking in the rear view mirror- those days are gone.

Often sides that coast into finals off the back of a lot of very narrow wins and a soft draw fall away the following year.Sainternist wrote: ↑Wed 26 Oct 2022 10:56pmAmen to that, brother!shanegrambeau wrote: ↑Wed 26 Oct 2022 6:25pm

Re: “St Kilda will get no easy answers in Ross Lyon’s second stint with AFL club”
What this article doesn't mention is In season 2021, Collingwood suffered serious injuries to important players, including KPPs Howe and Moore who missed most of the season, and I'm pretty sure Elliott was also missing through injury ... and they didn't have young Daicos and a couple of other young recruits who have strengthened the list.
In a tight competition, that's all it takes (luck with injuries and a couple of good recruits) to go from 17th to top 4 ... and is the real difference between losing and winning close games.
But of course this article is about coaches and how influential they are ... may the myth live on. It's articles like this that perpetuate it.

Pendlebury and Sidebottom one year older;
Daicosess will be close checked;
Signs Elliott was developing the yips;
Lipinsky may have plateaued into just a player;
No Ollie Henry;
Honeymoon over for McCrea?
DeGoey in a comfort zone now and injuries starting to cause him to miss games;
On the other side Moore developed into an absolute star and Maynard also very good. Quaynor/Noble.
Couple of young fwds/mids ( e.g. McCreery) look extra good and may improve.
Can't expect to keep winning close ones - that run ended in the finals.
They probably make the 8 comfortably, our prey are Freo and Bulldogs, maybe Brisbane but they have so many top mid fielders. Sydney could easily slide backwards. We seem to match up ok against Richmond when most are fit.
At least now we are likely to be asking the right questions.
