Aaaaah MrD.B.Cooper, your earlier mention of the great Barrie Robran’s unforgettable cricket career, and your orgasmic sniffing of of the great G.R’s cricketing box Such a momentous experience for you reminded me that the season for the thwack of leather on willow ( or is it the thwack of willow on leather ) is upon us.D.B.Cooper wrote: ↑Wed 12 Oct 2022 10:10amI do feel our South Australian compatriot and his stories of lust for the great Barrie Robran is a tad more subtle and less descriptive than Con was with his Mav & Richo interpretationScollop wrote: ↑Wed 12 Oct 2022 9:59amHomo erotic content always good for a few laughs.

Every cricket season Rowdy Mallett’s offies of days gone bye are salivated about. You can read about, these match winning performances on threads in Saintsational courtesy of our loyal South Australian compatriot.

Re: To the Top
What we have seen across this Trade period is:-
Adelaide - Traded in Rankine from Gold Coast. Have Pick 23 in the upcoming Draft
Brisbane - Dunkley from WB (34)
Carlton (10)
Collingwood (16)
Essendon (4)
Fremantle - Jackson from Melbourne (30)
Geelong - Bowes from Gold Coast (7) Another story.
Gold Coast (5)
GWS (1)
Hawthorn (6)
Melbourne - Grundy from Collingwood (13) Another story
NM (2) and (3)
PA - Horne - Francis from NM (33)
Richmond - Hopper and Taranto from GWS (53)
St Kilda (9)
Sydney (14)
WC (8)
WB (11)
What I have done is only include the players with absolute currency and who have been traded, noting there are only 7 because Bowes is excluded - the rest of the names traded bits and pieces on the Roundabout.
Of some of those 7 with currency, there is the "go home" factor as the driver.
So the majority of Clubs have held their First Round picks, including St Kilda.
In terms of Pick 9, to upgrade the only Clubs to negotiate with are GWS and NM because they hold the top 3 Picks (and if you trade up from 9 it would be to get to the top 3, otherwise why?)
So St Kilda would have spoken to GWS and NM, hence Clark.
Maybe the offer of Steele, King, Marshall or Sinclair and Pick 9 would have seen Pick 3 with St Kilda - but who would have courted such a "trade"?
So the lay of the land is what it is.
And we head to the Draft, with Pick 9 - then a couple of later Picks (including for Long who GC have paid for) trusting there is another Marshall or Sinclair in the pack.
So, for all the yelling and screaming on here, St Kilda is with the majority of the Clubs across the Competition - going to the Draft with a First Round pick.
And trusting in its List - including the youth on its List including those who have not yet appeared at AFL level (so the likes of Heath, Adams and Peris plus who we now Draft).
When you trade, to gain significant you have to trade out significant.
That is why Pick 3 remains with NM.
St Kilda identified De Goey - and he chose to stay at Collingwood.
As a further commentary, all these sites are is fodder for "journalists" who trawl looking for a click-bait headline.
So perpetuating the uneducated telling their fellow uneducated what they do not know.
And in response to certain who "contribute" garbage to this site, yes, I played cricket with Barrie Robran (and lived a couple of doors down from him) and against Rodney Robran.
And I had as a close friend Nick Mallett, the brother of Ashley (both from WA originally). As a consequence I also knew Ashley quite well.
The "commentary" of some on here referring to both Barrie and Ashley is just plain disgusting - but what you expect from some on this site.
They need to be called out for the fornicated morons they are.

Re: To the Top
The administration of the St Kilda FC is in good hands.
The Football Department is in good hands.
The outcome of Reviews (which are part and parcel of any landscape) is that the conclusion can be that the incumbent has led to desired change BUT that the incumbent has led that change to the limit of their ability to change.
What happens then is that the incumbent is thanked - and replaced.
Replaced by someone who can add the finishing touches.
What I have referred to is the comment of Walsh upon his appointment - noting there was a process to the appointment of Walsh which would have included his presentation to the Board and to the Football Department.
So the comments of Walsh were his presentation to the Club - and accepted by the Club hence his appointment.
Take careful note of what Walsh said.
Added to that is the comment of Gallagher yesterday.
The comments of Gallagher replicate the comments of Walsh.
So also take careful note of what Gallagher has said.
There is no doubt Ratten did a sterling job, particularly in 2020 (assisted by Jo given the circumstances of the time) and when, given the continuing availability of Ryder (injury), Carlisle (family) and Long (suspension) St Kilda could have pinched a Flag.
But the question is can he take the next step and deliver?
The Club have come to a conclusion in regard this question.
The exit of Lade was significant (noting Lade replaced Ratten when Ratten was not available during the season just completed)
And now the Board and the Football Department have taken the next step - consistent with the comments of Walsh and Gallagher.
So who adds the missing "bits and pieces", to quote Walsh?
Who makes St Kilda FC relevant?
Who actually delivers?
A template may be Collingwood - and who replaced Buckley.
Despite the doom and gloom, including from media seeking click bait to present themselves as relevant (that word), the List is "bits and pieces" away, noting again the comments of Walsh and Gallagher.
Brutal decisions are made, personally, commercially and in sport.
St Kilda are realistically 2 years (and junior development) off being positioned to consistently challenge, which is the first requirement as confirmed by Geelong and the oldest premiership side in history.

Gallagher
The same James Gallagher who thought this is an acceptable deal.
In
Brad Hill and a future third-round selection (plus a reported $900k salary)
Out
Blake Acres, Pick 10, Pick 58, and two future second and a fourth round pick.
Is it the same former Macquarie guy who transferred to Football from a moderate career in finance.
This is the fornicated moron we are supposed to have faith in for the future.
Surely he goes before the draft and the new coach is appointed.

Remember I posted a month or so ago........ who was the last #14 from St Kilda who coached St Kilda? It was Allan Jeans.
Also another coincidence to consider, # 14 Allan Jeans took over as coach after the Saints sacked Jim Francis who was an ex-Carlton player & coach........ hmmmm

Don’t know if either Gears or Selwood are interested in coaching, but they are 2 individuals I believe Saints should sound out as assistant coaches........ both fit into the Lenny Hayes mould.
Actually I noticed Sandringham weren’t playing too well early in the season. Gears wasn’t playing in the early games. When he came back from injury, Sandy became more competitive and won a few games. You could see the influence he had on the team. He was like a playing coach on the field, organising players on where to position themselves, pointing where to kick, pointing players when to switch to defence etc. it was so obvious. He wasn’t chasing kicks himself, but still putting his body on the line. He covered for players who left their opponents . Then Gears got injured again, and Sandi started falling in a heap. I may be a bit out on my time frames when Sandi were competitive or had a few wins. However their poor matches were often when Geary wasn’t playing. Although I didn’t view on AFL.com all of the games they played, so I may be a bit off.
I believe Gears has all the attributes to take on coaching......tho he may be best going to another club to start off as an assistant coach.
Did you read the comments Geary made a few weeks back about our young ruckman, Max Heath? I forget Geary’s actual words, but he said something like......... Be afraid, be very afraid when Heath gets it altogether, he’s going to be so good. The interview was written up on Saints.com at the end of the season.

Re: To the Top
In response to certain fornicated morons who "contribute" garbage to this site, the uneducated telling their fellow uneducated what they do not know, It is time to set the story straight.
The year was 1984 and the sporting genius that is Barrie Robran had just moved house for the third time in 12 months, according to local newspaper reports the big man had been the victim of an obsessed stalker and was on the run from this unknown but wily assailant.
I’d heard through the brother of a very famous Australian off spinner, that the sinewy giant had moved into a certain street in Norwood so I set about my next move.
Research located a local family two doors from the footballing lothario’s new abode and this family was happy to provide a foster home for needy children.
Being 4ft 10 and 63 years old I knew exactly what to do, I forged a new birth certificate and approached the family telling them I had Hutchinson-Gilford progeria syndrome and was in need of a home, they took the bait, hook, line and sinker and I moved in the next day.
My first move was to start surveillance on the rippled human rock, so I jumped the back fence and drilled two holes in the fence between the neighbors yard and that of big Barrie.
It was 8am on a Sunday when I heard the roar of a Victor starting up two doors away. I scurried to my new lair and peeped through the holes I’d drilled.
There I saw a man mountain, tanned, lean, muscular wearing a pair of Redlegs “away shorts” fitted so snuggly they made Warrick Cappers shorts look looser than MC Hammers happy pants.
Sweat glistened on his hairy muscular pectoral region and torso and I could smell the mixed aroma of two stroke, freshly cut grass and man musk all coiled together in what can only be described a potpourri of manliness
He cut the grass in parallel lines preparing the backyard turf to resemble the Adelaide oval
One day one of a test match.
I was feeling a little woozy at the magnificence before me when I heard a booming but friendly voice yell “hey champ, how are ya”. “You must be that little kiddie from down the road”.
The incredible brute had noticed me and called me over for a chat.
“Now haven’t I seen you somewhere before sport” he said. I daren’t mention the shower or ice bath incidences at the Norwood FC so I said no sir.
He said “I’m having a Barbie this afternoon and my brother Rodney will be here, why don’t you come over”. Now there is only one thing better than a Robran and that is two Robrans and I’m invited.
I wonder what food they’ll service, a Robran sandwich sounds good ….mmmmmm

The year was 1984 and the sporting genius that is Barrie Robran had just moved house for the third time in 12 months, according to local newspaper reports the big man had been the victim of an obsessed stalker and was on the run from this unknown but wily assailant.
I’d heard through the brother of a very famous Australian off spinner, that the sinewy giant had moved into a certain street in Norwood so I set about my next move.
Research located a local family two doors from the footballing lothario’s new abode and this family was happy to provide a foster home for needy children.
