Another Narkle
This time last year would have been an exciting prospect. Clearly should have left Pussies last year and currency has dropped through the floor. I reckon yes for low order draft pick.

Re: Another Narkle
We wouldn’t even need a draft pick for it, just a list spot. Delisted Free Agent (DFA).
I would have thought he would already be starting behind Windy, Owens and NWM for any mid time.
I would be keeping the DFA picks for backup talls if there are any available personally.

Re: Another Narkle
I'm really bullish on Narkle. I think he's got all the tools to be a really good player; just hasn't quite put it all together at Geelong but his talent was undeniable.
Definite yes from me - even happy to offer a three year deal.

Re: Another Narkle
We could have got him for nothing last year. From what I gathered the Cat’s shopped him around and got no takers.
I like him too as he fits a mould of player type that we don’t have a great deal of but my impression is that the club is not interested.

He has been de-listed so we could get him for nothing this year as a delisted free agent

Re: Another Narkle
Can Geelong re-recruit him at the last minute?
If Geelong were a young team full of competing youth, I can see a reason to think he’s pretty good. But they are not really..so what does that say? I wonder what he lacks in Chris Scott’s opinion?

He’s definitely worth looking into. I’ve seen display some decent skills and footy smarts.

Re: Another Narkle
Sinclair was overlooked in his draft year 2013. He then spent 2014 playing for the Oakleigh Chargers in the TAC Cup under 18 as an overage player.
Not a mature age rookie.

Re: Another Narkle
Having advocated very strongly that we go for Jarryd Lyons and Ben Keays when they were both delisted, I'd say Narkle is in that category. They both turned out very well.
When talent is there, you need to grab it - even if another club can't see it.

Don’t remember it but freakin legend’s call if true (which I have no doubt). Am not a huge Lyons fan but Keays is a gun

Re: Another Narkle
He'd be an improvement on Long, and he's a few months younger.
I just have one query ....
He's only been getting 30-40% game time at Geelong on average (over several seasons) ... is his fitness/tank suspect?
What's the story?
With full game time, and if he becomes a regular 22 player, I think he'd easily be averaging over 20 possessions per game.
I hope our recruiters are giving him some serious and due consideration. We need impact players/playmakers.

Re: Another Narkle
I’ve advocated for some misses, too (and some who never got a second opportunity - Kieran Collins and Luke Partington come to mind). But Keays was a high draft pick who simply needed opportunity. Lyons had already played some tremendous footy (in bursts) at Adelaide and Gold Coast.skeptic wrote: ↑Sat 01 Oct 2022 9:07pmDon’t remember it but freakin legend’s call if true (which I have no doubt). Narkle will - in the right environment - become a very good player. I hope it’s with us. I hope we’re right into Esava, too.

Re: Another Narkle
No doubt he has the skills & tricks, but what is the right environment if he can't make it work at the Cats?

Re: Another Narkle
Speaking to multiple Geelong people at the GF while lining up they all said the same thing - Lazy, no defensive side to his game and not fit enough.
Has the penny dropped or does he not really want it bad enough to put int he work?

Re: Another Narkle
Consistency of opportunity is the key to his development. Play him every week and give him responsibility. Geelong didn’t trust him - but that doesn’t mean he can’t flourish elsewhere.D.B.Cooper wrote: ↑Mon 03 Oct 2022 7:52amNo doubt he has the skills & tricks, but what is the right environment if he can't make it work at the Cats?

Re: Another Narkle
Seems like he's had some big games on the occasion that he gets a decent amount of TOG. I'd take him on the list ahead of Byrnes who is another undersized mid with an ordinary defensive game. Don't think we should have both on the list though and apparently Ronnie got a new contract recently.

He’s a DFA isn’t he?
If we buy him a tri colored saints helmet he might come good
