Now that there is no Queen’s Birthday holiday Collingwood and Melbourne should lose their monopoly on the day and there’s an opportunity for a Kings’ birthday blockbuster.

First move the holiday to on or about July 7. The Kings’ actual birthday.

Second, move the apostrophe. Important for the pedants.

Third line up the Suns for an annual blockbuster.

You know it makes sense.

i propose we keep the queens birthday for a ten year period to recognise ... well recognise all those public holidays she's given us.
and of course charley needs his own celebrated , so add that in there somewhere.
in ten years if we become a republic we can have a republic day and a ten year period so charles doesn't feel too shafted.
if we don't, then maybe we add an indigenous holiday. to celebrate their shafting.
in fact we keep adding holidays until we're all working 4 day weeks and st kilda get a holiday game! long live the king.
