List your 2022 fantasy trades and drafting for the Saints
Here is my go at it (sans DeGoey as he's too topical).
This is all fantasy, no inside info and some detail taken from media reports.
Our current picks #9 #27 #45
TRADES
GCS
Out: Ben Long
In: Jack Bowes #7
(Bowes & #7 currently being reported in media if we take his whole contract, seems too good to be true but let's go with it & we know they want Long)
North
Out: Brad Hill & 3rd round 2023
In: NM second round 2023
(North take his whole contract, I think he may be done with us and getting his contract & Hannebery off our books can only be positive)
Richmond
Out #9 & #27
IN: Jack Graham + #12 & #30
Small shuffle of picks in a very even draft
Adelaide
Out: 4th round 2023
In: Matt Crouch
Not valued at Adelaide but still a good ball winner and will come at little cost
Free Agency
Karl Amon – pry him from Hawthorn due to the current racial upheaval and influence of Aunty Katrina
Draft
#7 – Cam McKenzie - Sandy Dragons & Saints Academy player
#12 – Isaac Keeler - Nth Adelaide Key Fwd Ruck or Henry Hustwaite Stingrays tall midfielder/ defender
#30 – Jaxon Binns Stingrays Midfield/ Wing
#45 – Max Knobel – Gippsland Ruck
Rookies from...
Jai McGough – 178cm very lean lightning quick (think better skilled Peris) winger with excellent foot skills
Dane Harvey – 197cm (stick figure) winger, great athlete & runner & cricketer, plays more a running game than KPP, think Justin Westhoff
Matt Payne – 185cm hard running tough midfielder, very quick. In the draft frame prior to injuries but could be a steal. Similar to Ryan Byrnes but not as well skilled at this stage.
OUT: Ben Long, Brad Hill, 2023 3rd round, 2023 4th round, & #9 & #27
IN: Karl Amon, Matt Crouch, Jack Graham, Jack Bowes #7, #12, #30, 2023 2nd round
MIDS
Steele, Gresham, Ross, Crouch, Graham, Crouch, Jones, Windhager, Owens, Cam McKenzie, *Hustwaite, Binns, Bytel, Byrnes
Still lacks pace and polish but improving
List still short of key forward, key defenders & ruck options.
Pick it apart and go for it!

Gresh small fwd, in centre sometimes, not a mid.
DMack- not a mid. HBF rotating with 2022 Trevor Barker winner.
Amon won't come, his mum's at the club.
He'll stay with Baby Poo- their mea culpa means they'll overcompensate now, to regain trust etc, with the whole nation watching them.
Think of Injectors post-supplements.
Their players would triple-check ingredients on Gatorade, protein shakes, etc

Agree on Gresh being a small forward but I don’t think the coaches agree, I think they see him as a mid.WellardSaint wrote: ↑Sat 24 Sep 2022 11:54am Gresh small fwd, in centre sometimes, not a mid.

McKenzie I refer to is Cam, is our #7 draft pick and academy player

Re: List your 2022 fantasy trades and drafting for the Saints
I dont think the Bowes and pick 7 is an exclusive gift for the Saints.
It will cost a future pick/s.
Next year the GCS have 14 players out of contract. They will be looking at cheap youth via the draft and state league top ups.

Why would Ben Long be worth any more than a third rounder?
He’s out of contract
He was Sub half a dozen times
He is average

Graham and another crab Crouchvto go with our already 1 dimensional midfield and miss McKenzie in draft by sliding back to 12??? No thanks
I’d like
Hill gone - NM 2nd
Trade that, Long for 7 and Bowe (we take Bowe contract re structure it)
Hit draft with:
7, 9 and Bowe
Keep Clarke
Bring in Humphries (bull could be anything and possibly best in draft) , McKenzie (gets it more and uses better than Clark already) to go with NWM, Windy, Owens …we have a future strong mid nucleus forming
I’d keep cash up sleeve skip De Goey throw a truck at Bing next contract
It’s time Ben stop mucking about up there and get home.
“Yeah….nah””

Re: List your 2022 fantasy trades and drafting for the Saints
Out of contract but not free to walk. Dew clearly wants him. His links to the NT and Indigenous culture may also be a reason. Who cares. If Long and Clark via North future 2nd equals Bowes and pick 7, I'd take it.

Why would you bypass McKenzie with #7?Teflon wrote: ↑Sat 24 Sep 2022 5:04pmGeezus what a train wreckD.B.Cooper wrote: ↑Sat 24 Sep 2022 11:11am Here is my go at it (sans DeGoey as he's too topical).
