Trevor Barker Awards Night
Thanks to Saintsational's sponsorship we are lucky enough to be going on Tuesday night.
Who else is going?
We have a trophy to present to Jack Sinclair - but I am thinking it was better at the photo session - however I cannot guarantee that it will be a sponsor event or even if it is whether we will be lucky enough to get to go.

Re: Trevor Barker Awards Night
Do we know if players have started their holidays yet? I suppose the majority are expected to attend. Exit interviews would have been completed? (I guess that's when Ben Long said, well we can keep this short).

The cup will reside at Moorabbin - the trophy to be presented in November?

Is it just me or does everyone look uncomfortable and not enjoying themselves? A very starchy affair, they need an MC that can get people to loosen up and have a laugh.

Something seems off colour at the club since the Bye....and not just on the scoreboard

Re: Trevor Barker Awards Night
I thought he never embraced the club at all.
Treated it as an income stream.
Highlighted by his approach to the retired James Frawley telling him to come to the club.
I can imagine the convo- 'the club will pay you pretty well, just come over for a bit of $$' without any thought of what value he could bring (which he didn't)
A real Sainter will pledge allegiance to the ❤ and despise the Pies, the Blues, and the Injectors.

Re: Trevor Barker Awards Night
I thought they got the top three spot on!
Congrats to Sincs, well deserved and any other result would have been a huge shock.
Nice little dig at the coach for not selecting him for quite a while in 2020.
He has played every game some coming into the team mid way through 2020 (and then only though injuries to other players).
Runner-up B&F last year and winning this year suggests Ratts may have very much underrated him like many of our supporters.

Re: Trevor Barker Awards Night
The only problems with the top 10 is .....
1 vote can be awarded by 4 coaches (the Saints website says 5 - but on the night I am sure they said 4) for a player who played role effectively. So at the end of the season you would expect a player who had played 22 games to have a pass mark of 4 x 1 x 22 = 88 votes.
Sincs won with 173 and the top 10 was rounded out by 68 votes - or effectively a player who only played role effectively 3/4 the time he took the field.
Kind of sums up our season - or am I being too harsh??

Re: Trevor Barker Awards Night
The fact that Steele finished so high after missing a huge chunks of games proves your point that quite a few players on the list had a mediocre season.Sainter_Dad wrote: ↑Wed 14 Sep 2022 8:17amThe only problems with the top 10 is .....

Re: Trevor Barker Awards Night
I was surprised to see Hill in the top 10, although the majority of his votes were in winning games. With the coaches giving the votes obviously someone still rates him - even if a lot of us dont.
