Not meaningless at all. They contribute dollars to the saints. And some live interstate FFS.

Re: 60,000 members
Same for every club. How many pet memberships? How many Collingwood members actually support that club, versus how many only buy their memberships because of all the good sponsor deals? The discount you get on Emirates flights to Europe makes it worth it for that alone. Those people wouldn't attend any of their matches nor give two sh*ts about the Pies.Sebastian Tombs wrote: ↑Sat 20 Aug 2022 4:20pm Meaningless figure , how many these 60000 attend games 20% , 30%??

And they're counting the ones who bought up the '3 games for $30' deal

A real Sainter will pledge allegiance to the ❤ and despise the Pies, the Blues, and the Injectors.

Re: 60,000 members
I would be very interested in the break down of what membership level makes up the $60K - and of other clubs

I assume it includes the membership I attempted to buy several times - international membership. No games whatsoever, but a Kayo-like pass to watch AFL games on the internet whilst overseas.

So it is possible that these figures a full memberships not pets or 3 for $30 type membershipshttps://www.foxsports.com.au/afl/teams/west-coast-eagles/afl-membership-numbers-ladder-2021-afl-club-membership-by-team-club-records-west-coast-eagles-richmond/news-story/27b74f6e8e6225c5666c4a9e493891b0 wrote: From last years figures:
In total, the AFL reported a record 1,113,441 total memberships this year — 726,897 adults, 99,807 concessional members and 286,737 juniors — well up from 992,854 from a 2020 season affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Re: 60,000 members
We also know that fewer people would go to the footy post-pandemic. Fewer people would go out period, public transport numbers down etc.

Re: 60,000 members
60,000 however comprised is a good number, yes.
Good bench mark for new CEO.
The Saints TV guys say Saints home game day experience is worst in the AFL. I agree it is poor. Hopefully keeping 60,000 entertained will cause the Club to lift their game in that regard.

Re: 60,000 members
Two things re GameDay experience: firstly, most game day numbers are down- our supporters don't show up in numbers . Secondly, our supporters seem more guarded during a game because generally uncertain about what we will dish up from QTR to QTR.Yorkeys wrote: ↑Sun 21 Aug 2022 10:46am 60,000 however comprised is a good number, yes.

A win is generally met with a sense of relief. Unlike the2000's where we had an expectation of winning every game.
So GameDay experience is directly related to onfield performance..

It seems we’re about 10,000 ahead of North at the moment, how many years under Clarkson before they pass us?

Re: 60,000 members
My point is it being a Meaningless figure is that how many of the 60000 can say vote in a Club election? how many of the 60000 can access a Finals ticket? two things which for a very very long time were rights of every member. Now you may ask what is "member" a member to me is a person over the age of 18 to pays up front to have access to at least our 11 home games now you add to that but that should be the bare minimum. It worked for most of the last century just fine
