Re: Trio for tests
Don’t see the point on bringing any of these guys back in.
Why not give Leo Connelly a run and Bytel . Give them something to motivate them over summer.

Re: Trio for tests
I'd be pushing Hannebery to play. If he can get through 3 out of the final 4 games of the season then you could make a case for giving him one more year on low base pay with higher match payments.

Re: Trio for tests
Give him the incentive of trying to get to 20 games played with the Saints, in 5 years. I wonder what round in 2023 he would achieve it, that would be a good side interest as he rehabs.mad saint guy wrote: ↑Wed 17 Aug 2022 12:04am I'd be pushing Hannebery to play. The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

How long has he been fit and playing at Sandy now, and he can't crack into our current side. Doesn't look good for him does it.

Re: Trio for tests
A few players like bytel will request trades to a team where they will get games. I would imagine that if Alistair Clarkson goes to either north or dons then a lot of younger fringe players will want to follow

“Meanwhile, time has run out for Jack Billings (back), Oscar Adams (back), Dan McKenzie (calf) and Paddy Ryder (calf), with all four still combatting injuries with only one game remaining.”
Anyone would think we have no chance of playing finals.

Re: Trio for tests
I think the club is looking at giving him a rookie spot.
Hard to see anyone else usurping us in that approach.

Re: Trio for tests
Only difference in approach to any other week should be if a player is marginal from a fitness perspective then rest otherwise pick best available 22.
IF giving a player a game in round 23 is the difference between them wanting to leave or not then all you are doing is kicking the can further down the road. If they are better than the person in that spot yes, if spot opens due to injury yes, if not work harder and get better.
