NWM has showed glimpses at AFL level
Windhager has been excellent at VFL level and very good at AFL level
Owens dominated VFL yet to translate into AFL
All you expect from first year players is glimpses at either vfl or afl level to show they have something!
All 3 to me look the goods
Allison and Adams are currently way out of their depth
Peris - good runner - but not a lot else
Connolly- good kick - not a lot else

Agree with comments on Allison and Adams, who at this early stage looks like a poor man’s Clavarino, NWM, Windy and Owens will all be good, a bit early to go but Heath and Peris no certainties and Connolly should not be written off yet

Heath and Peris have ability but are still boys. Allison is struggling. Adams has been battling injuries so will reserve judgment on him.
Clav was a champion compared to those two though.

Re: Batch's review- Owen stars
Before his back injury, I saw things I liked in Adams. This season has been a write off for him, though, unfortunately
Heath is a pup. His fitness base simply isn't there after playing hardly any football in the previous two seasons. This is his first year against men. Again, I've seen things I've liked, and once his fitness and strength improves we'll get a better picture of what he's capable of. I'm quietly confident. Those who have already written him off...well...that's about as premature as it gets for throwing a player in the trash can.
Peris is a goer who puts in and is pretty tough for such a small guy. He has promise, but he needs to learn to read the game better. He's a 50/50 bet at this stage.
I have seen absolutely nothing in Allison that indicates he can play football. Zero. It's harsh, and I hate writing it, but he rarely is involved in the play, no matter where he is on the ground. He looks completely lost

Great summary, agree with all.cwrcyn wrote: ↑Wed 27 Jul 2022 8:23pm Before his back injury, I saw things I liked in Adams. This season has been a write off for him, though, unfortunately

I'm a little more pessimistic on Peris, he's a guy who has been exposed to elite training for a long time.
Lightning quick and hard at it, just not sure he can be taught the game awareness.
Hope he can because is asset is elite.
