Oh how we miss DMac.

He may well be the toughest guy in the team and possibly our spiritual leader for going hard and showing the way to his team mates . Can't seem to win without him.

I’ll pay that! D-Mac was playing his best footy this year, too.

Agree with the OP. His never-say-die fanaticism sets an example for teammates that should not be underestimated.

And now news has come in that he has sustained a calf injury. Ugh! FFS!

He was ridiculed 3 years ago

And AR was lambasted for signing him (even though he wasn’t responsible?)

Now he’s the most important player in the team???

He’s definitely a goer is McKenzie but reality is that he’s a GOP

I am glad somebody raised DMac's absence. He is far harder at the ball and quicker than he appears and his team-first style is missed between the 50 metre arcs. A Better user of the ball when going forward as well.

I think what ppl are appreciating is Dmac as well as Long’s willingness to attack the contest/man.

Really feels like the current team is lacking that.

I also think he’s a VGOP. Maybe just a late developer.

He’s certainly been very good more than ordinary this season.

Dmac plays with energy and intensity and is ultra competitive, his skills and decision making have looked better at times also this season.

Ironically his team mates have turned into slow disinterested marshmallows.

How could you not like him, limited skills at AFL level but has a red hot go and puts his body on the line.

Probably our current version on Geary.
Basic AFL skills but getting good results for effort, persistence, hard running and courage.

If we are in trouble because a player of McKenzie’s ilk is out injured, it is a very damning indictment on our list.
