Favourite Saints Match??
As I personally believe this season is over, a few wins against weak clubs and a load of heart break...
I'm looking for suggestions for matches to watch.
It needs to be in the last 10 years so I can find the game.
I have a few I love to watch over and over....
What's yours?

Re: Favourite Saints Match??
I have a few personal favourites Tony Locketts 8 goals against the dogs at Moorabbin his 7th to bring up his 100 & his 8th to win us the game 1987 I think maybe 88 , The finals win over Collingwood 1992 I think but could have been 1991 Russell Morris kicked 4 or 5 goals obviously there are more that I don't remember off the cuff but these 2 stick in my mind. I will need more time but I'm sure others will probably pick others that will jog my memory

Carlton Rd2 at Moorabbin in 89 with Plugger kicking 10 on Silvagni has to be up there
All wins under less than 1 goal and all wins over 100pts

That was a dead-set ripper. SOS allegedly the full back of the Century, and Plugger made him look like a total hack. The big fellow kicked 10.7 including the winner from ( another ) pass from the superb Nicky Winmar.

Lions 2004 - Schwarze goal
And a game against the Kangas where Harvey passed to Gehrig to win the game, I think G kicked a bag
Vs Melb - Joey goal in the last seconds
Plugger vs Sydney 84
Vs Collingwood in 92 final and 93 at Vic Park
Finals vs Dogs and Cats 09 and 10

In the last 10 years....
2013 R23 - Thrashed top placed Fremantle (who rested most of their team) in Milne, Kosi and Blake's final game.
2015 R6 - The epic comeback vs the Bulldogs, 55 points down in the third quarter, came back to win.
2015 R14 - Flogging Essendon by a record 110pts is a fun watch.
2017 R6 - After years of beltings we finally turned the tables on Hawthorn, thumped them by 75 points in Launceston.
2017 R16 - That first half vs Richmond. 92-10 at half time.
2020 R8 - Finally breaking the Adelaide Oval hoodoo with a great win vs Port Adelaide.
2020 R18 - Solid win over GWS at the Gabba, confirming our first finals appearance in 9 years.
2020 EF - Any finals win is a favourite, especially our only one in a decade.
2021 R15 - Keeping the reiging premiers to just 2 goals is a lot of fun.
2022 R9 - Wins against Geelong are rare over the last decade, especially when 22 pts down in the third quarter.
And all 8 wins over Carlton in the last decade.

Re: Favourite Saints Match??
Think we played the Swans at the Lakeside oval the next week and got spanked. Lost many games in a row then stormed home the last few games. Just missed finals by a game or half a game. I think we had to beat Carlton last game, which we did, and Fitzroy had to beat Geelong (or other way around), which did not occur.D.B.Cooper wrote: ↑Tue 12 Jul 2022 8:57am The animals match V Essendon

Saved me from trawling the AFL tables.
The Bulldogs comeback was a ripper

Lions 2004. 54k in, would have been 48k Sainters.

Strangers hugging, stuff flying everywhere - my cousin had some random kid from the family beside us on his shoulders- what a match!

Probably my favourite, too. Ten goals seven (uncharacteristic kicking for him) including the match-winner with 42 seconds left.
The TS40 match against Brisbane (2004?) is another one. Troy Schwarz kicks the match-winner.

Correct, they went to Brett Bowey. Somehow the umpires missed the definitive best-on-ground performance. Who says they are not biased

The night GF over Carlton.
To be able to chat to friends at 3/4 time , ecstatic cos you know we're going to win . Then to be able to totally enjoy watching the last quarter was tremendous.
I've seen many great wins and many wins where at half time you knew we were going to win.
But this game was for an actual trophy
Something I'd never seen .

97 Prelim vs North.
McKernan going down early right in front of me was the best.
I thought we were premiers that night.
Best game and week of my Football life...... right up until 1/2 time on the following Saturday.

Match in Sin City when we came from 40 plus down at 3/4 time to beat those flogs and Plugger tried to decapitate that old white headed bastard.
