Angus Brayshaw
This guy is out of contract at the end of the season. If we’re looking to go after a FA, why not someone like this guy, instead of that complete numpty DeGoey?!?!

Re: Angus Brayshaw
I guess the thing is people complain we draft HBFs, hoping they become mids. Angus was drafted as a mid and has become a HBF.

Re: Angus Brayshaw
I would definitely prefer him to De Goey. He is a real quiet achiever and turns up every week. Throw the big bucks at him Saints.
NB: Melbourne tagged Neale last night = 22 disposals. Ratten let him run around without an opponent = 37 disposals. Sometimes I believe he is dumbest coach in the competition!

Re: Angus Brayshaw
Brayshaw moved to half back only because Salem was out for so long. Before that he played wing.Ghost Like wrote: ↑Fri 24 Jun 2022 9:42am I guess the thing is people complain we draft HBFs, hoping they become mids. Angus was drafted as a mid and has become a HBF.
Gus has been squeezed out because they have 2 of the best footballers in the whole league who start in the middle. Brayshaw could probably play the roles that Oliver and Petracca play, but the Melbourne team currently has a good mix and they’ve found roles for all their talent.
Brayshaw is a better all round footballer than Viney and Harmes and others who line up at stoppages but Brayshaw had concussion issues and he was forced to come back in as a winger. I shouldn’t say ‘forced’. It was a decision that was in the best interests of the individual and it was a good benefit for the team
Viney worked hard to find his niche back in their squad. Viney was dropped and had to work on his decision making and his disposal. Viney is a damn good ball hunter but he cannot play at half back like Brayshaw can.
Brayshaw proved he is versatile and can adapt. Would he relish moving back to a pure midfielder type role? Why don’t we put it to him and offer him a contract and find out

Re: Angus Brayshaw
Unrealistic attempt. Wont leave Melbourne unless flicked or punched in public by Steven May and then it would be to go to Freo.

Re: Angus Brayshaw
I agree: there's no chance of him coming and he's not the type of player we need anyway. de Goey is exactly the type of player we need (on the field). I'm sure the club is focusing on getting him. He will potentially give us what Petracca would have given us if we hadn't been so stupid.

Re: Angus Brayshaw
I’m guessing he won’t leave Melbourne, but I was just throwing his name out there as an example of someone we should be targeting instead of that moron at Collingwood!

Re: Angus Brayshaw
He leaves for $$$ and the promise to play through the midfield. Plus he is far better than a GOP, his stats are comparable to Sinclairs this year, it just his efforts just get over shadowed by Melbournes ridiculous midfield.

Re: Angus Brayshaw
So instead of getting a real Petracca but a bit of d**khead, we would end up with a poor imitation Petracca and real d**khead.meher baba wrote: ↑Fri 24 Jun 2022 12:32pmI agree: there's no chance of him coming and he's not the type of player we need anyway. de Goey is exactly the type of player we need (on the field). Re: Angus Brayshaw
There is an article in todays Fox Sports indicating Geelong are strongly interested in Brayshaw. If he is gettable, I hope the Saints are holding discussions with his management also? He is without doubt the best value Free Agent on the market, highlighted by Geelongs interest.

Re: Angus Brayshaw
Seeing Geelong flirt with him made my stomach turn. Fortunately, there’s no Geelong Falcons connection, so we could be in the hunt if I our recruiting has any interest.Impatient Sainter wrote: ↑Sat 25 Jun 2022 1:41pm There is an article in todays Fox Sports indicating Geelong are strongly interested in Brayshaw. Really, why would ANYONE want to come to St Kilda right now? It's looking like zombieland of Richo's final years.
