INs & OUTs v Swans
They have already said Captain Jack will return.
DMac is an automatic selection.
I'd also like to see Owens & Sharman in.
I have been very disappointed with Jones but suspect Ratten will give him "a last chance" (not really) against his old club.
INs: Steele, DMac, Owens
OUTs: Byrnes, Butler, NWM
Higgins, Clark, Marshall all lucky to hold their spot.
On Higgins, is there a player with a greater speed differential when they have the ball compared to when we have it? May explain the lack of tackles.

He was certainly hobbling badly towards the end of the game.

Re: INs & OUTs v Swans
We need Steele back in the team more than I think anyone expected.
Can’t have Butler, Higgins, Long and Gresh all in the same team, ideally drop 2 of them (not Gresh, but play him forward)
Sharman in

Re: INs & OUTs v Swans
Owens, McKenzie, Steele, Windhager, Highmoore, Lienert, Sharman and Wood should all come in.
We need bigger bodies ... and Steele should run our players through a refresher course on how to tackle, shepherd and apply relentless pressure.
We need to start games better ... bring intensity from the word go.
Gresham should be our only small.

Against the swans .i reckon hill will struggle big time .can't win his own ball.watched him closely last night live and under pressure he struggles and the swans wont be letting him run around doing what he likes.

Out: Paton, Butler, Marshall
Battle to back up ruck as with highmore can cover extra back.

Both teams have been / are being severely embarrassed this round. One team will respond as professionals who have pride in themselves and their club. Surprise me St Kilda and you be that team.

Re: INs & OUTs v Swans
Thank goodness some here aren't on match committee, we would run out of ink each time we lose a game printing the changes. Talk about knee jerk reactions.
some suggestions:
Howard - Really and who plays on McDonald or Buddy, and then the 3rd tall pushing forward be that Reid or Landhams?
Billings one game back kicks 2 goals out of 11 but mightn't have gone as hard at 1 contest as someone expected - out
Hill - made many clangers last night but at times was the only one wiling to take the game on with run rather than bomb down the line and watch it come back . Been good all year but in the tradition of knee jerk reactions - gone.
Brynes - a few mistakes but again worked his tail off . wouldnt have played 20 games at a guess but lets not give him a chance to settle at all and need to get some of the fan favorites in from Sandy - out.
Clark - first game back and didn't star - off you go too.

Re: INs & OUTs v Swans
Out?
Long - aggression, despite many on here lauding the kamikaze style, does not cancel out dumb footy - a poor decision maker, constantly drags his man to the ball but remains unaccountable for him as the ball is cleared and is an unreliable kicking for goal.
In for Long- Sharman who is to stay clear of king , run clever patterns and prevent the triple teaming of Max by making Sydney backs accountable.
Out - anyone not prepared to gut run - which on last showing is the entire midfield and forwards. I exempt the backs given how much the ball was in their half.
Out - ball butchers by foot - pretty much the entire team
Out - any semblance of a competitive football team
In - who cares, it cannot be worse than watching stuff dished out against the Dons.

Re: INs & OUTs v Swans
Forward line needs another marking target.
Please bring Sharman in the kid leads to right places
Lost count of how many times Max king started in the goal square and led to the pocket / boundary line when there was space more directly in front
Sharman at least takes a defender away from King

Re: INs & OUTs v Swans
After watching Sandy today Windhagger was the stand out and must come back, Wood didn’t do enough, Sharman’s accuracy is his only asset but he maybe better value than Higgins, Buttler or Long who offer very little. Paton is struggling and Webster although good last week gives away silly frees and we have too many ball butchers and would not miss one of Ross or Jones the latter gets a bit of it but is a turnover specialist. Lienert and Joyce were good at Sandy but Highmore would be a better option at AFL level. Steele comes in even if under done he stick a tackle which few others can. Owens and McKenzie should also be in as they will both have a red hot crack, I appear to have more ins than outs but after Fridays game it should not be hard to find a couple of more candidates for Sandy. Although Hill and NWM are not fond of the hard ball they add pace and skill which is not in abundance in this team. Unfortunately all the good advice offered on this site will not be heeded by our selectors so all we can hope for is that Westcoast don’t find some form as the other matches will be a bit out of our league.

Re: INs & OUTs v Swans
This might sound wierd but I think the obvious changes are Steele in and NWM out and someone out for DMac which is Byrnes so from there it's a question of who comes in for Marshall who will either be dropped for under preforming or for having an injury that needs rest, take your pick but probably a little from column A and a little from column B.
Bringing Sharman in would be a mistake I feel, looks good at VFL level, but looks VFL level in the big time. Got to keep backing this side now especially after Ratts unloaded on the team. On paper we had our best team for the year against the Bombers, with Steele back in it will almost be our best team on paper for many years so let's see what they've got. Exciting times ahead.

Re: INs & OUTs v Swans
It’s about time Highmore was called up.
Also, what is going on with Bytel? He was meant to be part of our future, but now he seems to be forgotten.

In: Windhager, for Clark. Campbell for Marshall. Lienert for Paton. Sharman for Butler.
Form at Samdy must be rewarded.
If Steele is fit he replaces NWM.
