Hunter Clark? What’s the verdict so far?
… how do ya think he went?
He looks slow, but so did Winmar sometimes, because the latter had poise and time.

First week back after injury and it showed he will improve quickly once he gets his fitness back

Not fit
Hasn’t been for his entire career
Doesn’t train hard enough. For an elite footballer, his body shape is pathetic
Can seriously play, has loads of courage
Lazy as f***!!!

Rather have Wood than Clark at the moment. Clark is capable of doing a few nice things in traffic, but jeez he would want to find another gear

If this is true - and I don't know whether it is - he needs to be put on notice and told, "it's now or never".
But I'm thinking it may be as simple as him needing to regain confidence after a couple of very nasty injuries.

I think Billings was one of out better players last night, unless we can get as good or better replacements I don't see them going anywhere. The Recruit wrote: ↑Sat 18 Jun 2022 3:46pm He is fine

Of Eamon wants to come to us via free agency next year we take him with both hands.
Think of me long enough to make a memory.

Re: Hunter Clark? What’s the verdict so far?
He is way off being AFL fit, but that has been the case his entire career. He doesn't have the body or fitness for the rigours of the game. I would be happy to put him up for trade at seasons end, just to give him a wake up call.

Re: Hunter Clark? What’s the verdict so far?
I’ve said it since we drafted him - he only looks good when the game is played on his terms (low pressure matches where he gets space to move and time to think).
Those games are fewer and fewer in the 2020s-era.
He needs get himself extremely fit over the course of the year, do a red hot pre-season and come out firing in 2023.
He’s a long way off the pace right now.

Looked physically spent at quarter time. Don't write him off. He's a fine player and will get better. Half back suits him more.

Hunter needs to get serious in the gym. Maybe it's injuries I don't know, but I see him pretty regularly down the street and you'd never pick he was an AFL player. No muscle definition, thin as a rake, looks gaunt in the face. Maybe just one of those bodies that doesn't put weight on easily but it's a concern, that at his age, he looks so physically undeveloped.

He needs to decide what he wants to be. It’s time to deliver

Het gets another game next week, if he doesn't perform, then he gets dropped.

Re: Hunter Clark? What’s the verdict so far?
I remember someone asked about him in the match thread and I wrote a positive review maybe 1/2 through the second
Don’t think I saw him again
Definitely lacking match fitness
Both he and Jones are building up. Jones IMO has looked better these last two weeks, it’s taken time though
I like the idea of Clark to HBF and put Sinclair in the middle

Re: Hunter Clark? What’s the verdict so far?
Hunter & Nick (Coffield ) for picks 7 & 8 IMO have been disappointing so far ,5 years in the system & due to injury & bad luck neither have gone to a level I was expecting. Hunter has class but a bit like Billings not a player that can tear a game apart like a an Oliver ,Bont or even a Parish & Nick had a slow start came good went backwards & then did his ACL . Still hopeful that they will develop in to A graders but ATM IMO both are not even a B

Re: Hunter Clark? What’s the verdict so far?
Latest hammy injury to Josh Bruce is a great reminder....
If Hunter is not going full-bore, do not panic, anything is better than doing a hammy in a come back. Seems to be very common after lay-offs.
Do not go back to seconds to 'run into' form...
Play in firsts at 70%, get touch and be 'hammy aware'**
**caveat
If you are a skilled player with as much talent as Hunter

Re: Hunter Clark? What’s the verdict so far?
I wished that was case but the only answer can be he simply doesnt apply himself or work hard enough on his body development. He and Coffield have had injuries but mostly are both fails for top 10 picks, then the club hasnt have the leadership to let them know they way behind where they should be. Its criminal how bad our recruiting has been including those two.stkfc1 wrote: ↑Sat 18 Jun 2022 7:32pm Hunter needs to get serious in the gym. Re: Hunter Clark? What’s the verdict so far?
I have faith we have good one in Clark. I also have faith in Coffield and Paton being part of our best 22 going forward. I don't think we can truly make a decision on Hunter from the 2022 season to date - needs AFL match fitness desperately & he'll be fine.
