Re: Gresham
He’s a small forward, not a mid, why they insist on continually trying to make him one is bizarre.

Re: Gresham
He should be played permanently forward with the occasional centre square bounce to give a spark
Butler or Long .... one or both need to go
Sharman in permanently to give forward structure..... absolutely everyone can see it except the Match Committee

Re: Gresham
Gresh and Long should be our small forwards as they’re actually the only ones who play the role properly.

Re: Gresham
Gresham should be a small forward, that's what he is good at.
Someone at the club should tell him he is not that good as a mid, or show him some tapes.

The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

F*** me I thought I'd had a few tonight and I'll be honest right now all I have to go by is the eye test but I think Gresh has got ahead of himself. I'll have to watch the replay I supoose.

Re: Gresham
Gresham is clearly a top 22 player
Is talented
Is required and we’d be silly to trade him
The challenge is in his use.
As I’ve posted a few times tonight… he’s incredible when he plays to instinct and decision making is awful when he stops and decides to try something a bit cutesy.
I like him more as a forward pocket because he’s more decisive and even if he sprays the shot, he’s a kind of make it happen player.
BOG tonight IMO. Better second half as he grabbed it and backed himself to do the difficult.
Personally like Dud has suggested, I like up forward predominantly pushing up the ground as opposed to pushing into the forward line.
The challenge with the forward set up is too many players that don’t have a weapon which leads us to go long to King too often.
IMO the structure should be
Sharman, King, Gresh
Membrey, Marshall/Ryder and one of Long/Butler/Higgins
It’s tall but at any given time one of the marking forwards pbly pushes up and a Billings or someone else pushes forward
That forward line has more avenues
Is talented
Is required and we’d be silly to trade him

If Gresh gets BOG tonight then we are officially the club that prides itself on being selfish.skeptic wrote: ↑Sat 18 Jun 2022 12:09am Gresham is clearly a top 22 player

Re: Gresham
Made some horrible choices but took the game on & was probably our best player on the night but he didn't have a lot of competition just goes to show how bad we were

Re: Gresham
Is an A-grade small forward or C+ midfielder.
Pretty easy choice to me, not sure what the coaches are doing.

Re: Gresham
Not a Gresh bag post.
Get the footy, looks up and hasn't a clue what is the coaching plan to do next.
A teaching tactical coach will improve him, and like a rising tide lift all boats.

Re: Gresham
He had a game of contrasts. In the first half he tried to to do it all himself rather than give it off to a player in a better position. It resulted in atleast 8 unnecessary turnovers and burnt team mates. He reminds me of the star Auskick kid that hogs the ball .
Can't understand anyone that went to the game thinking he was among our best. He just doesn't play with a team first mindset.

Re: Gresham
Clark had 13 disposals .....missing for huge stret he's of the game.
Something wrong with his head, looks limp and slow.
Why are we hammering Gresh, who at least had a crack and kicked 3 goals

Re: Gresham
Clark was ok early, very good in tight, but can't/won't run and won't defend. Doesn't look AFL fit, but if he is , then it's mindset.Banger9798 wrote: ↑Sat 18 Jun 2022 9:10am Clark had 13 disposals .....missing for huge stret he's of the game.

Gresham played for Gresham and I reckon really pissed off team mates last night .

Re: Gresham
Gresham needs to play in the middle IMO: he’d be wasted if he played permanently up forward.
But for mine, last night he was trying to be the killer playmaker every time he got the ball and made some critical errors that turned into scoring opportunities for the Bombers. So he certainly wasn’t our best last night, though he worked hard and made some of the best plays of the game.

Re: Gresham
Ross was easily our best. And Long was ok too.

Re: Gresham
Also noticed Ross in the 3/4 time huddle was one of very few that were vocal and trying to lift a group with heads down. He adds a bit more to the group than just his own game.
