Re: Making the 8
If we lose to the Bombers I doubt we make it.
St Kilda should never trade with Essendon and Sydney ever again!!!

Re: Making the 8
4 weeks ago I had Pies out of other chances to make 8
Based on up coming games against Freo (away), blues and Dees
Really does make it tough for us considering our fixture

Re: Making the 8
I’ll be relieved if we can just get over Essendon this week.
It’s not like we have a great record against them and they are due to have a good game soon.
Hopefully, it’s not this week.

Re: Making the 8
I saw one site today projecting the top 9 within one win of each other. With Carlton missing out with 14 wins.

Re: Making the 8
Depends like always on injury. Fate has not been kind to us. Hayes, Steele, most of Saturdays team's mids, Clark's ongoing issues, Billings pre season. Be nice to cut a break.

I wouldn't have said we've had any worse a run with injuries than most other sides.

Re: Making the 8
Relatively speaking our injury list is moderate, however where it hurts us the most is we are a list that can least afford to lose too many, especially in key spots. Hayes going down hurt, crazy as that sounds for 4.1 gamer but in that very short time I think he helped us structurally which also supported a better method into F50. And then there was the loss of Steele which really is arguably the player we could least afford to lose and especially with players like Clarke out. I think our wins have been largely been helped by the immediate impact of the debutants as well as significant improvement in some of the established players. The latter being the group of players who really need more credit for compensating for the lack of depth in our list. Wood and DMac very underrated in that regard so be very concerned if these two go out at the same time, a big win to Essendon looms.meher baba wrote: ↑Tue 14 Jun 2022 1:29pmI wouldn't have said we've had any worse a run with injuries than most other sides.
We are just holding together is my take on where we are at and we really could do with some luck in the second half.

Re: Making the 8
I think we have (or had) been very lucky with injuries.
Hayes played one good game, which we list and was very average before and after.
He may turn out to be good though.
Steele is starting to bite now.
So hopefully he can get back soon.
Clark, can’t wait to see him back.
Billings is an enigma!

Re: Making the 8
we have a hard run home.
We should however win enough games to make it.
We put on a good showing against a better team on the weekend. There is not too many better teams than the Saints.
Injuries took their toll, however ultimately I dont think we had the fire power or class to win against Brisbane.
Good learning curve.

Re: Making the 8
The Carlton and Freo games will be huge, and probably season defining.
We could win both or lose both, hopefully Steele is back by then to save our midfield.

Ridiculously tough draw but thats what you get for finishing top two the previous year.
