Watch Pies Forwards Lead
And best Dees
They actually HAVE a great into forward 50 transition game
Ours?????
Hit n miss has been for way too long
Yet we have massive weapons in King who stand still and wrestle 3 on 1 …..dum dumb dumb football
Pies now level on points in 8 BTW
Our forward transition work is game plan
It’s coaches job to fix
It don’t bro g addressed and it’s hurting us

Agree, no reason we couldn't have Max and Members and Sharman lead up like that.

Pies look pretty good and Melbourne very beatable.
The flag now looks a raffle. Even we may be a chance if we can get a run on at the right time

If we lose to the Bombers, Collingfilth will take our spot in the top 8 thanks to the stupid Demons.
St Kilda should never trade with Essendon and Sydney ever again!!!

Re: Watch Pies Forwards Lead
there were two parts to the PIes forwardline
great run through the middle & accurate forward pass
and excellent contested marking
great win by the Pies - even tho they ruined my perfect tipping weekend

I’m just dumbfounded we are park footballers
We can see it
Our club??? Can’t implement it?
Why ?????????
Surely we build our forward line around this model - forget the “butler to crumb” model it goes missing in big games
If Sharman ain’t the answer - find out now!!
If Membrey is expendable (or better elsewhere) find out now
We are treading water otherwise whike the Filth will fly past us
Time is now
It’s coaching too don’t tell me it ain’t

A bit difficult when our selectors keep dropping Sharman. I wish we could drop our selectors!!!Banger9798 wrote: ↑Mon 13 Jun 2022 6:57pm Agree, no reason we couldn't have Max and Members and Sharman lead up like that.
That shot at goal in the last quarter that Ming had to put us in front, I knew he was going to miss. Sharman would have put it straight through. He kicks the clutch goals. Ming is still a work in progress. That's why Sharman should always be in the team. He may not get as many possessions as we would like yet but he will maximise what he gets.

Re: Watch Pies Forwards Lead
Absolutely they do
Their system is clear
They’d kill fir a King - use him right too
Us???
Who is our forwards /transition coach?
I can see the impact of the Geelong guy down back
But forward entry abd forward positioning has been a massive issue for way too long
Is it Lade ???

Re: Watch Pies Forwards Lead
We need Sharman back in the side. He wasn’t going to be the answer against Brisbane but we need to have the 3 talls, and I don’t consider the spare ruckman as part of the permanent forward set up. Marshall and Ryder are resting on the pine more often that they are resting in the forward pocketBanger9798 wrote: ↑Mon 13 Jun 2022 6:57pm Agree, no reason we couldn't have Max and Members and Sharman lead up like that.
I reckon Elliot for the filth is a ripper. Better than Higgins and we could have tried getting him in for 2023 if we didn’t have Higgins already. Same mistake with selling the farm for Hill. We missed out on getting Treloar who nominated the Saints
Higgins is a good player, but he wasn’t the piece of the puzzle that we needed to be a top 4 team. We already had Butler, Billings, Gresham, and Long who can all play in the forward line. Zac Jones and guys like Byrnes were also already in the side. Now we also have Windy and Owens
Hope we land Tarranto and then I’ll be happy

Re: Watch Pies Forwards Lead
Anyone else think Jack Hayes would be real handy in the team right now.
Midfield mechanism into F50 works much better when you have more than one tall option, of course the midfielfers are going to kick it to the only tall option after the opposition have slowed your forward movement to the point all the smalls are either at the feet of the well covered tall or all the space is clogged and not letting the smalls lead up.
We look better, our midfileders look better when we have an extra tall. Just a shame Sharman isn't up to it.

Re: Watch Pies Forwards Lead
He could try leading up and taking a few opponents with him. Theoretically that would leave Marshall or Sharman or Membrey or even Higgins one out.
It’s predictable and not efficient just to bomb it in there and hope for the best.

How did May play today?
How many marks were taken before Gawn Turner and Petty went down?
Melbournes defence was a shell after quarter time.

Re: Watch Pies Forwards Lead
They also marked in the square running backwards, snapped a few close in and their mids ran into the 50 and dobbed a couple. Even M. Cox. Thing is they don't rely on one or two. We have to because too many of our "forwards" lack forward craft and composure. We will have to recruit some of that. In the meantime let Sharman take some heat off Max and or kick a couple. Does Butler average a goal a game, make chances? Sharman!

We are doing the old Saints trick “plugger needs to kick 10 for us to win”
One dimensional
Sharman should play

Yep it seems the skunks are well coached and have a system
Our game plan appears haphazard and has been for awhile.

Our game plan some weeks looks good - forwards get on the move, good ball movement
Minute we are pressed we bomb like mad, King becomes Hulk Hogan or statue
Small forwards MIA
That’s why I want to see how we go second half season off a bigger body of evidence against in form top sides before locking in Ratten for 3 more
By round 20/21 we’ll know
