Not what the coach thinks. Ratts said Allison just spent the last month playing good footy.

What did you see Billings do that addresses the issue of why he was sent back to Sandy?

What issue was that? Do you have inside information?

The issue that BM observed today that leads him to conclude Billings should be playing AFL.
Do you know what Billings has to work on to play AFL ?

He’s played over 100 games in the AFL
And been a good performer
If Windhager, Wood, Owens are better AFL footballers than Billings and Clark I’ll eat my hat!!!

Re: Southport Sharks v Sandy
Allison plays like a 15yo playing against men! For the life of me I still dont know what our recruiters saw in him? Or the club to extend his contract was ridiculous? I know he is still only 20yo but I think we have seen enough to suggest that he is not going to make it. If he wasnt contracted he would be delisted at seasons end IMO.

Ratts-san is inscrutable but I suspect he suspects JB is too selective about when he goes hard and which games he will keep going with intent even if the current is against him. Kicking better than 50% from set shots within 40m might help the relationship as well. I know I would raise him in my estimation if he ran 30m to tackle a tough defender, dispossessed and then slotted the free kick. Not all the time, but say twice a season.

Re: Southport Sharks v Sandy
From an outsider’ point of view, I think Billings’s cool demeanor and temperament hasn’t helped.
Players like Long, Battle and a few of the tough diamonds of the past get a pass for ‘having a real crack’. JB doesn’t look like that. Maybe Dal had a bit of that too. Ross? Even in his last Sandy game, some fans here said he has a way to go whilst others said he was good.
As for the inside point of view? I would like to know too. Please, let’s have a review .
1) Decision making OK
2) Dusposal ? Above OK and two sided.
3) Goid balance, good hands
4) running into the right places? ??????
5) being able to set-up play by passing or pushing the ball into good areas????
6) Skills in the deck?
7) Scumming?
8) following orders, sticking to team plans. Good. I guess
My guess is 4,5 and 6 ?
Or he is not meeting his targets for fitness following his on going hammy issues

Geez, I sometimes wish for subtitles but I do know you are not potting him on a mystical perception.shanegrambeau wrote: ↑Tue 14 Jun 2022 6:49pm From an outsider’ point of view, I think Billings’s cool demeanor and temperament hasn’t helped.

Re: Southport Sharks v Sandy
No, none of the above. After the Crows game, JB expressed a desire to play his 150th in a Saints home game in front of the fans. The best way to do that was to miss the last 2.shanegrambeau wrote: ↑Tue 14 Jun 2022 6:49pm From an outsider’ point of view, I think Billings’s cool demeanor and temperament hasn’t helped.

Quite straightforward, really.
