Excuses are for suckers....it's easy for me to let the lads off the hook...but we've been coming up with excuses for so long we are experts at dissection of each game and factoring everything from weather to player indigestion.
We had EVERY opportunity to win. We certainly had opposition, we may have been umpired unfairly a bit, we had injury, we had key players out of position who lost all confidence, we had players kicking with the yips...travel IS tough, but.....
There will always be umpiring decisions that hurt...don't let the game get into a situation where one decision determines your fate.
Player injury is tough ...but select a bench that is as good if not better because they're so hungry they'll rip their own tits off for a quarter of footy
Players getting double teammed or misplaced in a strategy is hard but it happens alot ...build a resilient culture that refuses to kneel no matter what
Mentality of "key players" who are forced into acting in Messiah roles is the culture of chumps, every team globally falls into this occasionally.
We have to be able to shift gears and see how B graders who are hungry with the culture of 'never say die'... hardened by suffering and with unquenched desire play a role...any role... that is the launching pad for the A Graders ...we can never succeed without that string second tier..
We have so much going for us, a solid second layer that's young....did you read me? YOUNG ....finally!!! We have hungry young blokes again...I can feel a 2000-2002 era awaiting to erupt, but every team gets these chances once every blue moon and most usually let it slip....what will keep us going forward? Well, one thing is competing for spots instead the past decade of HAVING to play blokes who weren't Senior quality...another is injury...which sucks but it makes holes for the hungry to feed
No matter what I love the lads and all the b1tching and shartiness I spew...I think we are going forward and I'm proud to be counted among you hopeless lot.

Agree. I have felt pretty sad at times on here...but there's some club forums that are so insipid and it never changes. 80% of us love the team AND are members who have invested over 25+ yrs into loving these bastards
As much as I hang on Dogs at times, their members aren't far off us in commitment. My cousin is a member and I've read their forum a few times and it's like ours. His wife is a Pie (hole) and we both go on her site and the way they treat each other and the team is putrid always...just horrific.
The moderators must be munted.
