Zac Jones’ durability!
I think I’m out on him.
Great player when up and about. Fast, drives the play... a bit of mongrel. Happy to accept that he’s been building his fitness after an interrupted pre-season and... bang hamstring again.
What is that his 6th hamstring in 3 years or something?
I’m kind of tired of it.
We never see him string a sustained patch of good form together... every time he starts looking good... twinge!
We really really needed him tonight and it’s the same old story.
Personally... I don’t know that he’s worth investing good money and time into anymore.
Bench him... have surgery if it will help... give him a huge huge long pre-season with frequent rest and recovery and give the game time to someone that can actually play 4 quarters more than 3 games in a row.

When you play the game at his speed - there will be injuries
High velocity player - with zero composure
Poor man’s Jack Steven

Re: Zac Jones’ durability!
I’m familiar with the fact that injuries happen... many of them to him.
He could be better than Steven if he stayed on the park long enough to consistently play to his best. We’ve seen it... it’s great. Exactly what we need.

Re: Zac Jones’ durability!
He hasn't been great since his return he has a crack but no real influence on the game apart from that one goal a few weeks ago. Needs to impact games a lot more than he has so far this year IMO

Re: Zac Jones’ durability!
He makes poor decisions
He ought to take first option but he over thinks it then stuffs it up trying to do to much
We need to look beyond this type of player to be top 4
We are not yet

Re: Zac Jones’ durability!
Has been fairly ordinary this season after he was looking like he was going to be a real weapon.
I think we need to keep searching for elite midfield talent and if Jones gets displaced from the 22 then so be it. No doubt he has ability but his durability and consistency are poor

Re: Zac Jones’ durability!
No more recruiting from Sydney's rehab room, that's one thing i'd be requesting.
The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

Re: Zac Jones’ durability!
Jones lack of durability is why we desperately need to trade in more quality midfielders at seasons end. Ratten has shown (a blind spot) that he doesnt like to use his flankers or pockets as mid rotations. So while Ratten remains we need to recruit more plug and play mids.
Sydney must love watching their recuits and TPI they got via the Jones and Hannebery trades. Given the amount of games they both miss, Sydney would be rapt they made the right decisions in letting them go.

Is it because it doesn't have a Covid conspiracy within it ?

Our recruiters on the other hand are annoyingly durable - they are bulletproof.

Trade Jones to Norf for a nice draft pick.
Jones was pretty good 2 yrs ago, hasn't done much since

Re: Zac Jones’ durability!
I think Jones is still a force when fit and available. That snap against (Geelong?) was it, that started the run of goals, was brilliant to watch.
But as I've said before, his hammies will be a feature of how he is managed. It may just have been a slight twinge this time nd he could be good to go. In a sense, perhaps it is good if he gives us half a dozen fire-cracker games a season - giving it his all, rather than nursing the hammy.
At the other end of the spectrum is Billings - and his hammy issues are more of a concern i would guess (knowing nothing but what us fans think we know). Unlike, Jones, JB is a very cool customer. Sometimes, I wonder whether his hammies are gonna be the final curtain for him - and a career that promised so much, as has just flickered like the lights on a fishing boat off shore at night.
Also, I am sticking to my guns and predicted that we will be graced by the presence of his highmness, Lord Hannebury, for six games from Round 14/15 until Round 20/21 when he gets re-injured.

You're quite brilliant Shane, yeah..terrific!
