Re: Team vs Brisbane
I predict that Daniher will be well-held by Wilkie, with Battle leaving his own man to help out.
It's the Corey Enright influence, who appears to have our backline working together with an almost military discipline.
He might get 2-3 lucky goals courtesy of Matt Stevic, who is the male version of Eleni Glouftsis (i.e. they're both clueless and prone to stupid calls)
Hoping we keep Hill away from the backline.

The 3 small forwards never worked well for us last year so obviously if Butler & Higgins play Ben needs to go somewhere else but IMO he has been better option than Butler up forward so far this year

Re: Team vs Brisbane
Fagan says he dropped their 2nd ruck, Darcy Fort, to promote Daniher.
They reckon they did well last yr with one ruck, winning 10 and losing one game that way.
We need to play the way we did vs Cats, but better.
Cameron only got one goal, I think he got 6 touches maybe.
I'm confident Wilkie can contain Daniher, helped by Battle and Howard, as well as pressure on Lions' forward entries to affect their passes.
Gonna be very intetesting game.
Win or lose, the way we play against a genuine contender, will show the brains trust at the club where we need to improve.
A combination of tactics and personnel.
Do we trade out certain players who may not go next level?
Get Amon into the club, for example?
Do we persist with the core players and change the way we play?

Not that it really means much because we ultimately win or lose by the effort of the 22 on the field but the Club must be travelling pretty well to have what is ultimately the classiest / strongest four emergencies in this era of emergencies.bigcarl wrote: ↑Fri 10 Jun 2022 1:12amMust be match conditioning and fitness you’d think. On the plus side, he and Billings out of the side certainly puts pressure to perform on the incumbents,

Well, over the seven afl games he’s played, he averages about 2 shots a game. And, I’ll give him this, he nails most of them.Teflon wrote: ↑Sat 11 Jun 2022 12:16amHe’s had 5 games or someher baba wrote: ↑Fri 10 Jun 2022 9:52am I can’t recall a player more overrated by fans in my time than is Cooper Sharman.

But he’s clearly struggling to get near the ball at AFL level. And to some extent at VFL level too. How much of a go should he get, given the competition we have for spots at the moment? Billings had two games and then got unceremoniously dropped.
We’re in a premiership-chasing phase, no longer a player development phase.

King regularly get six touches for a game.
Key marking forward can succeed with single digit possession numbers.
I think Sharman produces - or can produce headaches for oppo coaches.
The way you say, ‘how long can we give him? ‘ which for a player with less than ten games, is very strange. He on a hiding to nothing.

Re: Team vs Brisbane
Like to see bookies algorithm on the form line: Saints 50+ points over North, 21 points over Adelaide in Adelaide; Bne 14 points over coachless GWS, lost by 14 to Freo at home, a fixture Saints won; but we are not considered a serious chance. Perhaps Clive has plonked on the Lions and we are too poor to squander on gambling so its the weight of money not the quality of the team. Possibly a Butler discount in the calculations. If so hope it blows up on them. Then again bookies probably want us to win because of live final 4 multis.

King is a completely different kettle of fish.
Bloke gets the number one defender and regularly double teamed. Sharman gets anywhere from the 2nd to 4th and often has his opponent peal off of him.

Also 1 Brownlow vote and 8 coaches votes.
It took Max King 9 games to get 13 goals and 20 games to get a Brownlow vote.

While he clearly wasn’t good enough to remain on the list, by definition a delisted player cannot be overrated.
