Re: Paton for Geary
Interesting fact about Blake. In round 11, 2012, the year he retired, he received his first and only Browlow vote.
In that game he achieved;
131 fantasy points
21 disposals
4 marks
1 goal
2 clearances
8 tackles
60 ruck contests
28 hit outs
Not bad for 32 year old player who was primarily a back pocket, and a back up ruck and a run with mid and an undersized key defender.

Re: Paton for Geary
Obviously had no ruckman that game
2012
After Gardner and King
So McEvoy and Stanley? Not sure who the other ruckman would have been?

Re: Paton for Geary
Clark, Butler, Billings, Higgins and Byrnes are all chances this week, however I’d be very, very surprised if Geary is even in the conversation.
Paton had an ordinary fortnight before the bye, so I wouldn’t really be surprised if his spot is under scrutiny.
I’d hate to be a selector at the minute, but It’s great to see the pressure rising for spots.

Re: Paton for Geary
So you want to drop Paton because he missed a few targets by foot to bring in Geary who is the worst kick in the whole club. Yep great movebakes wrote: ↑Thu 02 Jun 2022 12:26pm Paton need a spell in the VFL. Needs time to work on cleaning up his disposal. Making too many errors. Against North he dropped marks he should have taken and missed targets by foot.
Time to bring Geary back as the lockdown defender. Tough, experienced, leader.
Paton will be around for a long time no doubt, but we are chasing top 4 and a premiership and need to think about the here and now. He will have a spell and come back stronger through the adversity.
Right now, Geary is a better option.

Don't worry, Paton is not being dropped and Geary is not being selectedBringBackMadDog wrote: ↑Tue 07 Jun 2022 8:55pmSo you want to drop Paton because he missed a few targets by foot to bring in Geary who is the worst kick in the whole club. St Kilda should never trade with Essendon and Sydney ever again!!!

Re: Paton for Geary
He would be leading the B&F at Sandy right now… and one of the reasons they are top 4… main reason is not many injuries.
But agree, he shouldn’t be in the senior team unless we have 15 unavailable
