I've been raised since birth, to believe in portents, omens etc.
I have this strong feeling that last week's purple patch of great accuracy has drained our allocation of luck for a few weeks, and we'll miss several set shots from 40+.
I said King will get 5, but deep down, I think he'll get 2.6 or something.

This one seems to be the most likely scenario, based on the way we play.
We let Cats and Crows get ahead, we let them dominate us in a lot of areas, but we found a way to get back into the game and play it on our terms.
The half-time break seems to be the time when all the coaches have worked out what's not working for us, and reinforcing certain tactics.
Gives the players time to absorb the instructions.
Being told stuff, plus listening, are very important.

So even if the Roos are in front at half time
Our guys have the belief to peg it back, and the coaches have the respect of the group.

Sincs came 2nd last yr, if my old brain is correct.
I'm hoping King retains his radar from last week.
During training this week, he woulda been riding on that confidence. A 21 y.o. needs that validation/affirmation.

As much as I think this is a danger game (they all are), I'd just like to see us lead an entire match, something we haven't achieved this season.

There must be a reason for our poor starts.
One sign of a good team is being able to take charge of the game, peg back a deficit, and strongly resist all attempts by the oppo to wrest control.

I have a fervent hope that after the bye, they lads will have worked out how to dominate from the first bounce.
Up to now, they've been playing catch-up, relying on better fitness and revised tactics to get back into the game.

Is it a coaching fail? Is it the lads taking far too long to stick to team rules/tactics?
Is it a combination of the two?
Why can't they dictate terms from 1st bounce?

When they get their together, they'll be definite contenders.

I’m a saints supporter of course I’m nervous…we always lose these games!! However, this side, this year, is far fitter, more disciplined and clinical in execution than we’ve been for a long time.
