F**! Carlton are good again?
Please put out this fire immediately….
Tell me reasons it can’t be true…
Say it’s a flash in the pan…
Surely no!
Don’t let Carlton be consistently good.
Nobody needs this.
Nobody needs them.

Re: F**! Carlton are good again?
To be honest, they played an amazing second quarter. A little like our third quarter last week.
Sydney outplayed them in the 2nd half - as have a lot of teams this season.
To Carlton's credit, though, they hung on for the win.
Definite top 8 this season but not a premiership threat.

Only because the swans kicked 1.5 in that 4th quarter. As bad as us against Port.Life Long Saint wrote: ↑Sat 21 May 2022 11:24am To be honest, they played an amazing second quarter. A little like our third quarter last week.

Good side unfortunately. It is sickening to see their fans up and about. It’s all, “Ra da da da dah, ra da da da dah”. Let’s hope they come unstuck at some stage.

their supporters are almost as feral as Collingwood supporters
And ugly bunch that’s for sure. Makes sense really, they gravitate towards a dishonest club which had a series of criminal presidents

Re: F**! Carlton are good again?
I said this last week…
Their engine room: Cripps, Walsh, Hewett, Docherty, Kennedy, Saad and Cerra
Good as any midfield going around
McKay is a bad loss and their rucks are nothing special but an imposing team that is here to stay.
If I was them, I would throw out the cheque book come seasons end and go all out for whatever missing ingredient their list has to try and secure a flag. They’re right there

No cheques available. Brown paperbags and jobs for mates, more likely.skeptic wrote: ↑Sat 21 May 2022 11:46am I said this last week…

Re: F**! Carlton are good again?
They really struggle to run out a game. Their defensive pattern reminds me a bit of ours under Lyon in that it seems to require a great deal of running around.
And they are enormously dependent on Cripps. If he’s not playing, or is effectively tagged, then they aren’t that great.

Re: F**! Carlton are good again?
It was an interesting game in that it involved two teams that we must beat to be regarded as a serious threat. A lot like Geelong but I suspect Geelong are sliding, Sydney treading water to a degree waiting on some of their quality kids to establish themselves & Carlton are rising, as per Skeptic's observations.
The Saints and the Blues may play some cracking matches, some finals, over the next half a dozen years.

The teams I won't watch (when they're not vs us)
Carlscum
The Filth (Pies)
Bombers
Port
Crows
A real Sainter will pledge allegiance to the ❤ and despise the Pies, the Blues, and the Injectors.

Re: F**! Carlton are good again?
When Pittonet returns I think Carlton are the only midfield who could match Melbourne's at this time. Carltons past weakness was their defence, but no more with Weitering, Newman & Docherty having an AA years. There is a long way to go but ATM I put Carlton ahead of Brisbane as challengers.

Re: F**! Carlton are good again?
The Blues had a good list last year but a shocking coach. They were underperforming.
This year their list is even better with Hewett and Cerra added, and they now also have a good coach in Voss.
It means that Cripps can just swan around the forward line and have the odd run in the midfield, rather than having to carry the team on his shoulders.
The Blues have finally got all the pieces of their jigsaw puzzle.
Voss since he had his first head coaching job, has completed the solid coaching apprenticeship that he needed to have had, but did not, the first time round.

Narrm's performance against North is why this year's flag is up for grabs. Plus it shows the importance of Langdon. No Langdon, no Narrm...maybe???

Re: F**! Carlton are good again?
Nothing is more important in todays game than having a gun midfield, which Carlton have.
We should be investing heavily in genuine mids also.

Carlton have improved in most a areas - except their backline, mainly due to the departure of the bloke who wouldn't be jabbed.

Carlton are a useful decoy for us.
All the media attention and expectation is on them, for
now.
That should suit us.
