What will serve him well is awareness, timing and explosive power. For a kid of average height and weight, the power stands out and it will only increase. His power is noticeable, not only when he enters a contest but, as he gets the ball and leaves, something switches in him. He has much more than no change up of pace. He calls on intensity and determination and uses his core to explode with power.perfectionist wrote: ↑Sun 15 May 2022 12:32pm He is a good size (185cm), although still shorter than Christian Petracca (187cm), Clayton Oliver (189cm) and Patrick Cripps (195cm - that's 6 ft 5 inches!). He has the signs of football smarts even though he is only 18. He will need them since he is slow with no change up pace. He can take a mark, not sure whether he has a leap. Skills look OK, especially handball.

Has the body of someone with a decade in the system. Is almost playing like it, too.
He's going to be a solid citizen for very long time. Great start to his career.

Re: Windhager
Windy should get more midfield minutes in coming weeks with Steely out injured.
Great experience for the youngster.
Would love to also see Owens come into the side, alongside NWM.

Number the same - Reminded me of Stephen Powell the way he attacked the contest.

He has a bit of a young Luke Ball about him (pre being flogged into a plodder by an unnamed coach).older saint wrote: ↑Mon 16 May 2022 2:22pm Number the same - Reminded me of Stephen Powell the way he attacked the contest.

Genuine hardness about him, fan fav already!
It will be interesting if there is a lot more development in him or is he a young maturer who does not continue to develop like Petrevski-Seaton or Powell-Pepper.
Amazing that both Owens and Windy have a bit of go in them from a competitive sense.
Look forward to their future.

Really well said he reminds me a bit of a young Harvey I know its a big call but he goes through packs like him if he is even a third as good I will be happy.CQ SAINT wrote: ↑Sun 15 May 2022 1:17pmWhat will serve him well is awareness, timing and explosive power. I'm always interested in who gets Rod Keough's number...I reckon it was a deliberate choice knowing the kind of player he is.older saint wrote: ↑Mon 16 May 2022 2:22pm Number the same - Reminded me of Stephen Powell the way he attacked the contest.

Re: Windhager
Windhager and NWM are exciting players for the future. Great pick ups.
Cant put too much faith or expectation on them yet. They are young and need to learn the game.

Re: Windhager
Could be our Peter Matera and Daniel Kerr combo or our Micky O and Adam Goodes. Here’s hoping they can have as good and as successful careers as those guys
